Hi, im on my second month of 50g clomid hoping it works this time, i have been trying to become pregnant for 2 years now i already have a 3 year old daughter and they are not sure why im struggling to become pregnant again. I would love to hear some good news about clomid i dont think i can take anymore negative tests :( The hospital have only given me 3 months of 50g and said if it does not work they wont give me anymore! so i dont no what they do next. i havent really had many side effects from it just headaches. If anyone can let me know there experience that would be great thanks

Hi,iv just had light cramps on off every day since last Friday and I'm thinking it's a side effect as apart from that I'm fine, I have read on the Internet that people can get cramps as it changes your hormones , they are not painful, so I'm not worried xx but no sick feeling or funny taste for me , could be your month :)
X take care X

Hi guys. I'm feeling really low. I am so so desperate to be pregnant, everyone around me at the mo is either finding out they're pregnant, about to give birth or coming home from hospital with their new bundles....and I am feeling so so emotional right now.

AdelleB1985 · 12/08/2013 11:00

I know how you feel Kerry I felt exactly the same and was sure it would never happen! I promise it will happen when you least expect it! Put lots if things in your diary, so you have lots to look forward to! That's how I got through the weeks! Keep positive x x x

Hi everyone , feeling very upset right now , just got my 21 day test results back and they are 11 , am I right in thinking that they need to be above 26 to fall? I was so excited this morning about getting them, now I'm in tears , thinking it's never gonna happen to me :(
Sorry to bring negativity to the site , but my friends don't understand how much the slightest thing can get you down xxx

hopeful27 · 12/08/2013 20:05

Hi Fingerscrossed, I hope you are feeling a little better now?? Did they tell you anything about the result? I know I was told that if my prog levels had been too low after first month on clomid then I could self prescribe a higher dose, just being careful not to go too high as it can over stimulate the ovaries.
We all understand how you are feeling so never feel bad for sharing them on here.
My period is due on friday and I'm getting sore boobs and lower back pain continues so I'm guessing its on the way :-(
Try and stay positive, it's early days yet, but if you are worried then you should go back to the hospital to talk about your results.

Take care

fIngerscrossed123 · 12/08/2013 20:20

So sorry you're feeling sad Fingerscrossed, keep your chin up though. I know little about the blood tests yet and how to interpret them but surely you can have a chat to your fertility nurse / Dr and perhaps they will up your dosage? I'm sure it will happen for you in time, I know the waiting and wondering is soooo hard though especially when others seem to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat. I have no pals who have found getting pregnant tough so thus I sought out a few forums otherwise it can be a lonely journey. At least here we see lots of success stories Grin Sending big hugs your way xx

kerrylou84 · 12/08/2013 21:07

Chin up fingers crossed, this was only your first month wasn't it? I'm sure next month will be better results.
I go for my blood test on Wednesday and not looking forward to the results as I didn't have any pains this time, unlike last month. I feel your pain, I'm feeling quitr down at the mo, but hopefully, one day soon it will happen to us all xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 12/08/2013 21:28

Thanks, I know I shouldn't of got my hopes up , but went to the hospital for a scan on day 14 and they said they were really happy with what they saw and said that it couldn't have been better, so stupidly I got my hopes up to then be told it was 11????? It just doesn't seem right that I can be told it's looking great , then a week later , my levels are low? Oh well I must just get over it and move on for another month xx its my 30th bday 2nd sept so hopefully that will take my mind off it all xx thanks for everyone kind words X send loads of baby dust out to everyone :)

bouncingbelle · 12/08/2013 21:34

Shameless- I,ve always had low progesterone and I do wonder if a progesterone boost would have helped save this pregnancy. It's something I,ll definately discuss with the clinic when we try again (have to take 2 months off). Feeling slightly stringer today after a very hard few days.
Fingerscrossed- it took me two cycles to get my number about 30, so do give yourself a chance. I'm also CONVINCED that accupuncture helped me ovulate this last cycle x

hopeful27 · 12/08/2013 21:51

In need of a bit of advice please ladies...... I've started a little spotting tonight (tmi but its just small brown spotting/pre-period :-( not a good feeling)
I'm just starting to worry if I'm taking my tabs right. I have to do CD 2-6, so I usually start with a few days spotting before the proper flow starts (tmi again sorry) and I only start taking clomid 2 days after the proper flow starts. Does that sound right?? I'm feeling so confused atm, 3 months in I should have it down to a T but I want to make sure month 4 has a better chance but doubting what I'm doing is correct. Does anyone else have the same sort of cycle?? Should I count spotting as first day or proper flow??

Sorry for being a bore

Much love
xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 12/08/2013 22:09

Hi, I was told to count 1st day as first day of proper flow. I took it on day 2 , not sure if that's helps at all X
take care

hopeful27 · 12/08/2013 22:13

Thanks hun. Remember we're all in this together :-)

fIngerscrossed123 · 13/08/2013 07:22

Your never gonna believe this, iv just done a early pregnancy test just because I was planning to do one today, and it's come up as positive ! I am in shock as with feeling so awful last night , but very concerned as my levels are low X ,

kerrylou84 · 13/08/2013 08:20

Hi hopeful.
My periods were so irregular, doc gave me chlomid and told me to take it days 2-6. I asked him what if its just spotting and he said still take it on day 2. Count the spottig as day one of your period.....I did that and my results were 133!
Wow fingerscrossed!! Congratulations. See, there is hope xxx

AdelleB1985 · 13/08/2013 08:34

Wow fingers crossed! That is fantastic news! ! I bet your I your over the moon! It will take a while to sink in! I'm 5 and a half weeks and I still can't believe it. Just try to relax over the next few weeks, I just feel so tired ! Bit like a hangover but minus the alcohol - it's hard to put ya finger on what it feels like ? ?

So happy for you x x x

KW87 · 13/08/2013 22:33

congrats fingerscrossed!!! great news. i have had a bad reaction to clomid and got admitted to hospital on sun with high fever. they are trying to figure out what happened. im going to stop clomid for a while and see if it happens naturally.

i just want to go home and they keep doing more tests.

fIngerscrossed123 · 13/08/2013 22:49

Oh no kw87 , that's awful hun:(
I hope your aloud out soon, are they sure it's the clomid? Is this your first month with it X I'm sending you a speedy recovery.
You never know what's round the corner, as people say it really does happen when u least expect it look at the posts I was writing last night and the fact that I had to go to a&e on the day of ovulation, which meant we didn't do the deed ,so I really thought I hadn't got a chance and somehow it's happened this month? I'm still in shock and paranoid that something will happen as my levels are so low X .sending everyone lots and lots of baby dust xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 13/08/2013 22:49

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments too xxx

Lottystar · 14/08/2013 01:20

Congratulations Fingerscrossed!!! That is super news, you must be so so happy xx

Alas (and sorry to dampen the tone) I don't think Clomid is agreeing with me one bit. It's my first cycle on 50mg and I've tested with opks since day 8 of my cycle and no positive. I'm
Now day 24. I've had no blood test this month and they're starting those next month if and when I get a period and can start my second clomid cycle. But It's the odd, late side effects that are really crappy though - I'm feeling sick (particularly in the car), fatigued, with a heightened sense of smell and food aversion, a metallic taste in mouth and sore slightly swollen tongue and then cramping and backache :( I sound like a bit of a hypochondriac but I never anticipated hormones could make me feel so bleh. It's also cruel as feels like early pregnancy symptoms and I pretty much know that's impossible given no sign of ovulation this month and I've not ovulated on my own naturally for over a year. Anyone get such nasty symptoms? Calling my fertility nurse tomorrow but grateful of your experience and advice. Also if you've not ovulated on one cycle of 50mg are they likely to up the dose? Xx

tryingforsolong · 14/08/2013 09:33

Hi,

Congratulations fingerscrossed, fab news, keeps me feeling optimistic.

Sorry to hear you are not well KW87. I must admit I've struggled this month with really high temps especially during the night. I'm not being monitored though, so I just sort of accepted it. I hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm currently on CD29. Cycles before Clomid were 27/8 days regular, but first month of 50mg I had a 31 day cycle, 2nd month 100mg , back to 27 days. 100mg again this month but no sign of AF yet. I'm not getting my hopes up though. I've got one more month to do then thats it, I'm officially giving up after nearly 5 years.

AdelleB1985 · 14/08/2013 10:42

Hi lotty star 50mg didn't work for me do they upped me to 100 mg and I fell on my second cycle ! After the 50 I had to wait 11 weeks for a period which was torture but then the next was 31 days and I fell this one!

Hi trying - fingers crossed could be your month! Like I say I had no symptoms and didn't have a clue I was pregnant! Would you try Ivf? How many cycles have you had ?

I'm not feeling great today got a bad head and I am sooo tired ! No sickness but sometimes feel my heart is gunna explode out if my chest ? ? ?

Lottystar · 14/08/2013 13:41

Hi Adelle, thanks, you give me hope. Spoke to the fertility nurse this morning and I'm so cross. They're refusing to give me blood tests to monitor my hormones until I am "regular" but I haven't had a period naturally for over a year so that doesn't make sense?! How will I know how I ovulated, even on the 100mg. She also said not to do ovulation tests but how else will I have a clue? I'm so stressed out and just feeling like I have drawn the short straw in terms of decent treatment. Is anyone private? Not sure we can afford it but I'm starting to think I may need to speak to an alternative fertility specialist. She also fobbed off my recent symptoms (nausea, fatigue, cramping, metallic taste in my mouth and sore mouth) as nothing to do with clomid. Am I going mad? Sorry for rant but feeling low Hmm

Lottystar · 14/08/2013 13:42

Meant to ask if anyone is private for clomid / PCOS treatment, how much is it? Thanks xx
