Hi, im on my second month of 50g clomid hoping it works this time, i have been trying to become pregnant for 2 years now i already have a 3 year old daughter and they are not sure why im struggling to become pregnant again. I would love to hear some good news about clomid i dont think i can take anymore negative tests :( The hospital have only given me 3 months of 50g and said if it does not work they wont give me anymore! so i dont no what they do next. i havent really had many side effects from it just headaches. If anyone can let me know there experience that would be great thanks

thx ladies im not late yet period could arrive anywhere between now and aug 7. my cycle has been all over the place so thsts why i just want to wait as long as i can. my first month i did 10 tests with all neg so now i wait and do just one.

KW87 · 02/08/2013 20:38

im also worried i killed the sperm... we were camping on my 2 days of ovulation.. i drank and swam in a very cold lake... i know im overthinking it but its making me more nervous.

AdelleB1985 · 02/08/2013 21:13

I'm sure a cold lake wouldn't effect the sperm ? I've drank during 2 ww because it makes the wait so much longer if you stop everything ! I'm a runner and stopped for first two cycles but it just makes it more disappointing when it doesn't happen ! I think it's better just to carry on as normal ! X x x

PK14 · 02/08/2013 21:21

I totally agree... We can all live healthy lifestyles but cutting out everything is too difficult. We do need to live a little. A few drinks is fine, I wouldn't worry x

KW87 · 02/08/2013 22:03

thx ladies.

Hi everyone. It's really encouraging to hear everyone's success stories :-) I have a 3 year old son who was conceived within a month of trying. I assumed my next pregnancy would be the same -how wrong I was! I've been off the pill for 8months now and my periods haven't returned at all. I had a set of blood tests which showed everything was ok except my progesterone levels were very low - my GP says it's looking like I'm not ovulating at all :-( He's referred me for a scan to have a look at my ovaries and has said that, depending on the results, I may be able to go on chlomid to stimulate them. I'm waiting for this appointment to come through now. I've read some of the stories posted but am not sure if any one else has had periods that haven't returned at all since coming off the pill? We're still hopeful that things will turn out ok but it's been hard - I never thought we'd have any problems as our first was so easy. My best friend had her first baby the same time as me and has just given birth to her 2nd. I'm so thrilled for her but also a little heartbroken that I'm not in the same position. I know I should be thankful for the child I already have, which I truly am. I'm just so desperate for another and don't know if it will ever happen. If anyone has any words of wisdom I'd be really grateful to hear them! Thanks x

This was my second cycle! (Though I had a month off between the two cycles) feel very very lucky!! X

Hello ladies, I've just been reading this thread back and it's so heart-warming not to feel alone in this Clomid journey that is starting to slightly take over my life ... You seem such a lovely and supportive group! I have posted elsewhere in the infertility section of the forum so sorry if repetitive but just to give an overview of where I am. I am 34 and been ttc for a year or just over. I have PCOS (just utterly, utterly irregular periods) which didn't prevent me naturally conceiving my two beautiful boys but since starting to try for our third and final baby my body has decided to stop ovulating completely. I have taken Provera, 50mg of Clomid (day 2-6) and am now on day 13 of my cycle. I'm relying a bit too heavily on the opk clear blue digital kits as I am not being monitored this month, they are starting to do blood tests in my next cycle. On the opks I have had 4 days of flashing smiley faces, so no peak or LH surge yet and am not sure if I am getting an inaccurate readings caused by the Clomid? Has anyone else experienced this? My hubby is enjoying all the action but I just feel very anxious about whether I will actually ovulate at all and if these readings are leading me up the garden path to feel disappointed.

Oh and a big congrats to all the ladies here who are preggers and baby dust to all xx

kerrylou84 · 03/08/2013 08:31

Congratulations bouncingbelle! Lottystar, what's Provera?
I think I've totally read my cycle wrong! I remember I had my blood test on day 19, as 21 was a Saturday and couldn't get in on the Friday. So does this mean I ovulated 7days before which would make it day 12? And I came on my period 7 days after blood test, so my cycle was only 26days.
I am on day 10 of second round now, not had any major symptoms but since last night been feeling sick. I don't know if this could be from the chlomid or just the start of a bug.

AdelleB1985 · 03/08/2013 08:40

Hey Emmie welcome !
I have a ready with a similar story she had her first baby within first month and has been trying for 2 years with second ! Problem is all her tests are normal so she been told to carry on - so at least they have found the problem for you!
I was the same my period were all over sometimes very 10 weeks! So got put on provera and then this is my 2nd round chlomid. It's really helped periods last month my cycle was 33 days and I'm day 32 now so due anytime.
I'm sure chlomid will do the treat ! X x x

AdelleB1985 · 03/08/2013 08:43

Quick question normally a couple of days before my af I sweat a lot in bed! I mean usually if I'm wearing pj's I need to change them and that's how I know I'm due! I'm day 32 today and should have af soon but no sweating? ? Dont think I'm preggers - no signs but worried af won't come because that means can't take chlomid for next round ? ? Any opinions ? X x x x

KW87 · 04/08/2013 16:19

hey ladies, did a preg test.. bfn and temp has started to drop. just waiting for af now. dissapointing but i have 3 more tries on clomid.

AdelleB1985 · 04/08/2013 18:18

Sorry to hear that kw87! We are cycle buddies I am due on any time too today or tomorrow - still nothing just waiting! This will be my 3rd round of chlomid. What round is this for you? X x x

kerrylou84 · 04/08/2013 22:07

Hi. Has anyone else suffered with sickness/diorrhea while taking chlomid? It may just be the bug but I felt like I've been on deaths door today.x

AdelleB1985 · 04/08/2013 22:14

Hey Kerry Lou! This is my 2nd round and can't say I've had any symptoms like that - occasional hot flushes but nothing else. Maybe it is a bug? If you ovulating earlier perhaps it's that ? I didn't feel well at all when I was ovulating. What round are you on. Are you trying for your first? X

fIngerscrossed123 · 04/08/2013 22:28

Hi everyone, sorry to hear that kw87 was really wanting it to be your month x im in the awful 2 week wait now :( seems to take ages )
Good luck everyone xxx

kerrylou84 · 05/08/2013 08:20

Hi adelle. This is my second round. I had been feeling sick the past couple of days but it eased off Saturday night so went to my sisters for a drink and BBQ. I didn't drink loads and topped up my wine with lemonade. Then Sunday morning I woke up and honestly thought I was gona die lol. Feel much better this morning, sore head though and pains in stomach every now and again.
Yeah this will be my first, my partner has other children. I have never wanted children until I met my partner, I just knew he was the one. Are you trying for your first?xx

AdelleB1985 · 05/08/2013 09:29

Hi kerry
I'm glad to hear your feeling better. I think when you meet the right person it can change your perspective on things. Hopefully this is the round for you, they say the pains could be implantation cramps? What cycle day are you?
I'm on cycle day 34 was due my period yesterday as I ovulated on day 19. Really don't want to take a test because at least you have hope when you dnt know! I've convinced myself if I was I would know. Yes this is my first x x x

AdelleB1985 · 05/08/2013 09:31

Fingers crossed
Two week wait is awful - try to keep busy and not symptom spot! Know it's hard but otherwise you will go insane ! Lots of baby dust x x x

kerrylou84 · 05/08/2013 10:57

I'm on day 12 today. I really don't know what day I ovulated last month.......I had blood test on day 19 then came on on day 26. My doctor has been on holiday so havnt had a chance to even speak to him. What are implantation cramps? I've heard if them but not sure what they are. Before taking chlomid my periods were really irregular, and when I did get them they weren't that bad, but after chlomid the cramps were unbearable and really bad. I was getting hot flushes too xxx

AdelleB1985 · 05/08/2013 11:15

Hey kerry

From what I've read implantation cramps happen after ovulation - sometimes you can get bleeding too! It's when the embryo is implanting into womb?
From experience what I would do is make a list of questions for your doctor when you see him next - I would go and come out with loads of things I wished I had asked him. With your cycle it sounds as though you have quite a short cycle and ovulate quite early.
My periods were the same very irregular with sometimes months between each one. I've had only had one period on chlomid and it was quite painful - worse than before ! I got hot flushes too! Well keep us updated and hopefully you will feel better second half of your cycle x x x

kerrylou84 · 05/08/2013 11:24

I hope I havnt missed it this month....damn sickness bug!
Yeah I will do that when I next see him. It's kind of been 'heres the tablets, get on with it.'
Let's hope your late period is a good sign! Xxx

Natty2513 · 05/08/2013 14:26

Hey every1, I'm new to the group today, Me & my hubby have been trying to concieve for 3 months now, I have PCOS & haven't had a natural period since June 2010! :( I saw my GP, he gave me norethisterone 3 times a day for 10 days & then on day 2-6 of period take clomid once a day for 5 days....I'm getting so nervous that it isn't going to work :-( does any1 know on what day you should ovualate after taking the clomid?
Thanks every1 xx

kerrylou84 · 05/08/2013 16:47

Hi Natty.
I think everyone is different when it comes to ovulating. I never had before but after taking chlomid for the first time my blood results showed a whopping 133. I think I ovulated around day 12, and my cycle lasted 27 days. Which for me was quite good as I could go months without a period. This is my second month on chlomid and feeling slight pain in my left side, so hoping that's a good sign!
Don't feel nervous, if this is your first month then there is nothing to worry about, as long as your results come.back to show you have ovulated then that's a good thing! My first month on chlomid I was terrible, u had a diary of when I would be most fertile and had arranged when we should have sex! This time I've taken the more laid back approach. The more uptight and focused on it the more disappointed you will be.
Good luck to you xxx

AdelleB1985 · 05/08/2013 17:35

Hey
Did a test today just out of curiosity and I could not believe my eyes I got my bfp! Had no symptoms so had to take 3 tests to be positive! It's very early so not getting too excited but just goes to show miracles happen :) x x x
