Hi, im on my second month of 50g clomid hoping it works this time, i have been trying to become pregnant for 2 years now i already have a 3 year old daughter and they are not sure why im struggling to become pregnant again. I would love to hear some good news about clomid i dont think i can take anymore negative tests :( The hospital have only given me 3 months of 50g and said if it does not work they wont give me anymore! so i dont no what they do next. i havent really had many side effects from it just headaches. If anyone can let me know there experience that would be great thanks

Hey hopeful, I also was so down because me and hubby wasn't having sex as much as we should and after round two the pressure got to him and he was unable to have sex with me when I was ovulating, very frustrating for him and heartbreaking for me as I thought it was my falt. So after that happend more than once I stopped testing to see when I ovulated I didn't even tell him when I was taking the clomid and what day I was on and that helped a lot we finally relaxed back into our normal newly wed routeen of having sex when ever we felt like it. Sorry for the tmi but maybe if u exclude ur partner from the clomid bit n just be urself again that might work, it did for me. Wishing you best of luck for next round :) xxx

hopeful27 · 30/07/2013 12:59

Thanks Sarah,
It is really depressing feeling that he doesn't want to be near me but at least I'm not the only one that has been through it. I will definitely try not to talk about it too much with him and see if you can get back into a normal routine again like we used to have. It gives me hope knowing that you guys got through it ok. I know I need to stop letting it get to me and let nature take it course a little bit.
Thanks again :-) xxx

Hey ladies! I've followed this thread right from the start and thank you for all the advice, support and guidance. Many congratulations to all those who have been successful... Many best wishes to you. I've just started my first cycle of clomid today, cd 2-6, at 50mg a day. Hubby and I have been ttc for 4 years... Fingers crossed! : )

Hi hopeful27 , iv just read your post and I know excatly how u feel hun. We had this issue a few months ago , where we both knackerd and getting down about it as it wasn't happening for us and we were trying to be very routined about it & it does put alot of pressure on both people :(
I find it hard to believe that people can keep this every day routine going , It just is so difficult with work commitments and that . I think its reassuring to know that alot of people feel this pressure when we have been trying for soooooo long . We have been together for 14 yrs now and I know its not a relationship problem its just added pressure and we both don't want to let each other down :(
Fingers crossed for everyone xxx

hopeful27 · 30/07/2013 18:55

Thanks fingerscrossed, it is reassuring to know others have been in the same boat.
It is so hard to deal with the heartache of not conceiving month after month that it does put so much pressure on both of us, especially me as its my pcos that it causing the problem.
It makes it all the more frustrating when people conceive the minute they start trying and as you say, with all the other commitments we have in life I have no idea how we all do it!!
I just wish everyone so much luck and it makes me feel so much better that I have people to talk to who understand how it feels to be in this position.
Thanks ladies and lots of love to you all xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 30/07/2013 19:05

I agree , without this site I woul be tearing my hair out , its just reassurance that other people feel excatly the same and your not going crazy over things as alot of people seem to be going through the same thing . It's great to talk on here as even one of my closest friends of 14 yrs wouldn't put up with me going on and on about the stuff I write on here ! Lol xxx good luck everyone xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 30/07/2013 19:42

Sorry to keep writting on here 2day , can I just ask does clomid make your ovulation pains stronger? As I believe I am due to ovulate 2moro , but today I have had really really painful lower back ache on my left side and its so bad , I'm lying down with a hot water bottle on it now :(
Has anyone eles had this ? (This is my first round of clomid so was unsure if it was because of that its stronger? )
Cheers xxxx

Hi
New to this thread, just been reading every bodies stories!
My story so far been trying to conceive for year and a half. my husband and I have been tested and bloods and his sample normal. I have very irregular periods every 2 month or so , so they came to conclusion I wasn't ovulating.
I'm on third round of chlomid 100mg, I didn't ovulate on 50. Ovulated on day 17 last month and 19 this month. I'm cycle day 27 and waiting for af. The 2 ww is the worst I don't have any signs so don't think it's worked this month, just thought I could chat to people with similar stories. Sometimes difficult talking to friends, especially as most are pregnant. Love hearing success stories and sending lots of baby dust to everyone :)

AdelleB1985 · 30/07/2013 21:26

Hey

Yes I knew exactly when I was ovulating had sharp pains and needed paracetamol ! Means its working yeah :)

fIngerscrossed123 · 30/07/2013 21:54

Hi adelle , welcome to the group :)
Good new that you are ovulating , its just a relief when doctor monitor things , just takes so long to get to that stage now doesn't it x
Thanks go your message , just can't believe how painfull it is , but your right at least I know when I'm ovulating which is a great as last month I definitely didnt have this pain x
Sending lots of baby dust out to everyone x

AdelleB1985 · 30/07/2013 22:46

Yes it took me a while to get the dosage right because I had to wait so long for next period. It's good news that you ovulated first month fingers crossed this is your month. They have told me I will be on this dose for 6 months and then a review and maybe another 6 months! Scanned first months but I'm on my own now ? ?
Good luck and keep in touch ;)

SarahJ23 · 30/07/2013 23:42

I only had really bad ovulating pain once when taking clomid so I don't know why I had it just once and not all. x

kerrylou84 · 31/07/2013 08:09

Hi. Yes I had bad ovulation pains, but I didn't complain as I have never ovulated before, so was pleased at a little pain. I'm on my second round of chlomid, on day 7. Suffered from the worst ever cramps and period after my first round, never been like that before!
And I completely sympathise with the not having sex situation! Before getting prescribed chlomid I was so mind focused on 'must get pregnant,' but after many negative test and blood tests to show I wasn't ovulating, I just thought what's the bloody point in even trying! So it was me that would make excuses or pretend to be asleep. But as soon as I got the chlomid, BAM......at it like rabbits lol.
I think everyone that is going through this feels the same, and its good that we have found each other to support and keeps each others chins up along the way.
Xxx

ShamelessInTheCountry · 31/07/2013 10:55

Hi all!
My ovu pains were way stronger on clomid, felt quite reassuring tbh, don't know why it is.
Kerrylou, I'm nearly 9 weeks, was on 50mg and my prog results and a scan showed it was working, but then I ovulated myself anyway, the 2nd month I conceived I upped myself to 75mg tho, I guess because nothing happened on 50mg and I'm mega impatient, haha. But I knew 50mg only produced 1 egg because of the scan so I didn't think 75mg was gonna hyper stimulate and produce loads more eggs, so I pro wouldn't recommend it if you're not sure how much 50 is producing. Diff areas do scans, postcode f ing lottery, but I think it's worrisome that your doc would up your dose without scanning what it's doing to your body, I would confront them on that, the whole point of the scan is that if 4 eggs show they would prob tell yo to to have sex that month....then lower your dose... I've only heard of clomid does being upped because the dose someone is on isn't making them ovulate...
Hope that helps xxx

ShamelessInTheCountry · 31/07/2013 10:55

Sorry meant they'd tell you not to have sex that month...

AdelleB1985 · 31/07/2013 16:19

Hi yes I never ovulated before do its a bit if a relief when you know it's happening ! When I ovulated last month I automatically thought this will be the month! It's hard not to get your hopes up - I hope it works eventually! It's really good to hear other people's stories :) keep us updated

AdelleB1985 · 31/07/2013 17:14

Hi shameless

So all in all how long did it take you on the chlomid. This is my second month of ovulating and don't know how long it usually takes or even if this will work ? :)

fIngerscrossed123 · 31/07/2013 17:43

Hi all , thanks for all your advice xx
I had to go to a&e this morning as pain was so bad still , they scaned me and said that unfortunaty I had another ovarian cycst :(
This had erupted yesterday and that's as causing all that pain , I did think it was very extreme for ovulation! Lol
So now on co-codamol , this has help abit , but still very painful :(
Why do we always have things like this that crop up and ruin things , as this is my day for ovulation and I'm in so much pain , I wouldn't be able to dtd tonight :(
Another month wasted xxxx

AdelleB1985 · 31/07/2013 17:58

Hey fingers crissed. All is not wasted though ! You have a 5 day window and the egg can be there up to 24 hours so maybe you could catch it tomorrow! I know it's so disappointing when a cycle fails, but least your ovulating that's the main thing! Hang in there Hun :)

fIngerscrossed123 · 31/07/2013 19:17

Thanks hun :)

AdelleB1985 · 31/07/2013 20:04
