The hut of gl/doom: ttc against the odds

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 10/02/2012 22:51

This is a safe haven for those ttc with difficult, with ?sub-fertility or sub-fertility labels. Where like minded people offer encouragement at times and commiserations at others.
I've decided the theme is Cocktail style: Flanagans. With a pink neon sign: Cocktails and dreams. Blinkity blink.

queen I get like that sometimes, all you can do is sleep it off. Glad you're feeling better. I've replied to your pm with directions for an outside route to avoid having to be inside wandering corridors!
DH doesn't think the car is too bad think goodness. Based on today I don't think I'm ready to go back to work next week! I'm just too wobbly. Back to GP tomorrow.
Sounds promising BB hope the transition goes ok.

pinkapples · 12/04/2012 19:05

I've had a good day back at work got an appointment for bloods next week my big list of pre consultation tests Grin

And a chicken curry in the slow cooker hmmmm

delilahbelle · 12/04/2012 19:19

Hey all

Well, lots of house stuff going on (long and dull thread in property/DIY if you are interested) and we had the first lot of potential renters look round as well. Very exciting.

queen an immunology appointment? Good luck, and I hope it's a step forward.

Faith phew about the car. One reason I refuse to replace my car is that I would be too worried about damaging a new one. Mine has enough scratches etc that I don't have to worry about adding to them.

pink enjoy your curry. I have no food in the house and am too lazy to go to the shops - so dinner has consisted of a packet of super noodles and an apple. I have eaten way too much toast today too.

pinkapples · 12/04/2012 19:23

Grin I love toast though I've been the same these last 2 weeks while I was off tea and toast probably half the reason I miscarried (caffeine and carbs)

Exciting about the house tho woohoo

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 12/04/2012 20:15

Let's make one thing clear pink you did not cause your miscarriage! I'm sure it dwells on your mind but try not to think like that

pinkapples · 12/04/2012 21:03

Hehe thanks faith I know I didn't really but you can't help but think when your not focused on other things my mind just wanders Smile

Feeling rather sick now after consuming a Easter egg with hubby Envy

queenrollo · 12/04/2012 21:19

delilah immunology completely unrelated to TTC. I had that severe allergic reaction in February and my GP agreed to refer me because it was so prolongued and I ended up in A&E at 3.30am when my face started to swell. I had a really hefty dose of IV Piriton and hydro-cortisone to finally sort it out but it still lingered for another day. No obvious triggers for it, but one possibility which could potentially be serious so I wanted to get checked out.

pink i had a momentary wobble when I had my CP at the beginning of the year that the fact I'd been drinking copious amounts of tea was a contributing factor. The thing is when I fell PG with DS I was drinking way more caffeine in a day. Even though you know rationally it isn't your fault, you still have these little quibbles.

DH got in from work and felt ill so retired to bed for a bit. This means tonights planned stir-fry did not happen so we had cheese on toast instead. This is partly because I was supposed to go food shopping today but didn't feel up to it and decided to do it tomorrow instead. We do have food in the house....but nothing that was quick and easy, or would make a good combination for dinner.

carrieonlaughing · 12/04/2012 21:34

Been feeling really unwell and pain in the small of my back (where I get period cramps) since I had the HSG two weeks. Thought I was being really pathetic but finally made a docs appointment and I have a kidney infection!
Ended up in hospital last time. Day three of pills and still no better. Its going to mean 3 days off work this week but have to go back Monday.
We are due back at hospital on the 26th to discuss clomid but I've very reluctant as I am hormonal enough as it is.
Hope everyones well. I've been lurking

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 12/04/2012 21:48

Muchos sympathies for the kidney infection Carrie. I wonder if you had an infection brewing when they did your Hsg? I had something really similar with my Hsg Confused . I hope you feel better soon!
If you're not sure about the clomid, make sure you talk it through fully with your OH and the docs. As a bit of encouragement, my friend on another thread in conception just got her first bfp after 19 months ttc since she started on clomid.
queen it's taken me since Monday to do a food shop so I wouldn't worry to much about cheese on toast for dinner!
pink fair play re the egg. I'm still resisting DH's even though he offered it to me but have been scouring the shops for discounted ones with no joy!

pinkapples · 13/04/2012 18:03

Going on a diet on Monday I think Hmm after I've eaten all the eggs in the house Grin

Hope everyone is ok today? I'm off to the beach with my two dogs on Sunday so looking forward to that Grin

pinkapples · 13/04/2012 21:14

Have just made the epic mistake of trying to saw off my exema (I know that's not how you spell it) with a foot scourer yup not one of my best ideas now sat balling my eyes out to dh bout how fat/ugly/ruined I am and he has promptly made a brew

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 13/04/2012 21:26

Ouch pink! I'd try a gentle scrub next time! Hope the brew has helped.
I've been signed off work for another week. Still feel wobbly but I am improving.

delilahbelle · 13/04/2012 21:28

Ah pink it's the hormones - I was the same after my MC/chem pregs. Your DH loves you and it will get better. Enjoy the beach, exercise will make you feel happy.

carrie hope you feel better soon, being ill is sucky.

faith Sainsburies has a few 70% off Easter eggs if you are lucky. And 19p cadbury chocolate bunnies. Not that I bought lots of them, oh no... Grin

Friday 13th definitely struck here - paperwork problems between mortgage lender / DH's accountant's means a key piece of paperwork is STILL missing.

And the water has gone off - judging by the amount pissing down the street outside it will be a while before it's fixed too.

DH has been sent to buy bottled water and I shall be skipping my planned hot bath :(

pinkapples · 14/04/2012 21:40

Hmmm need to get a grip of the weight issue too I feel Smile

Bin looking on some other threads any ideas weight watchers or slimming world seem to be at the for front at the moment

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 14/04/2012 22:00

Is your water back on delilah?
If you think you'll feel better with the slimming group, it's worth considering, I think SW probably has the edge. I'm struggling at the moment with the combo of lack of energy/lack of activity/comfort eating. My weight had stabilised but I think it's sneaking back up now :( must start going for a walk each day. Did today and feel a bit better for it. Actually I'm shattered but I think the fresh air helped with that in a positive way.

pinkapples · 15/04/2012 07:13

Yea I try to walk an hour every day with the dogs if not more but now dh has lost his job he takes them out before I'm home hopefully now it's lighter in the evening he will wait for me and that will help x

AllthatshewantsisanotherBBaby · 15/04/2012 10:10

I too need to loose mega weight! I just have no real motivation :/

Hope water is back delilah, phoenix hope you are feeling better soon, and pink hope you are feeling better too although to say that doesnt seem enough.

Wave to anyone ive missed

carrieonlaughing · 15/04/2012 11:18

Well AF has arrived 5 days early so HSG didn't work for me lol

pinkapples · 15/04/2012 11:30

Grin I'm alright on the way back from a morning at the beach Weston super mare have a dog beach so w spent sometime on there this morning was nice to get out and just talk well get through it I just think dh is bummed about not having a job of he did he'd have things to keep his mind occupied

AllthatshewantsisanotherBBaby · 16/04/2012 18:38

Beach sounds lovely pink

i have paid for the registrar for the wedding today, eek first official ness done! £524 paid out, just for the person to come an do it! Blimey!

pinkapples · 16/04/2012 20:00

Woohoo exciting stuff then... Our wedding was a huge expense but we didn't pay for it so have to be thankful for something Grin

delilahbelle · 16/04/2012 20:03

Hey all

BB the start of many expenses no doubt!

Water was back on by Saturday am, so I don't smell thankfully. Had a nice quiet weekend at home, went for a walk along the river with DH on Sunday.

I'm now relaxing at home with a bar of chocolate - PMS demands it. Oh, and a bag of bacon frazzles too. Diet starts next week.

I've been reading a lot of adoption blogs, and old posts on here in the adoption forum, and am starting to feel more confident about it being the route for us. :)

pinkapples · 17/04/2012 06:42

Glad you've got water Delilah.. Im up getting ready for work and have just seen the rain just makes me want to curl up and go back to bed but no... Needs must Grin

queenrollo · 17/04/2012 08:36
