I cannot believe people are so incredibly stupid as to say they thought she deliberately injured her babies for money to bring back fox hunting. I know it's the DM, but good grief. What planet are these people from?!

thanks Triggles, good link, just reposted it as a clickable link

This is what the public is really up against

"But to the likes of the malicious Maria Bartlett, a fox is worth more than a child. As she told us: 'I'm an animal lover. To me, an animal life is more important than a human one.'"

The public has not been aware of it, but is slowly waking up. These animal rights activists have been misled and duped by the propaganda that humanity is the enemy of nature, that humanity is leading to mass extinction of life on earth and destruction of the planet via climate change. That is why these activists think they are justified in their actions.

When the public finally wake up and are alert, then all of the liars who created this climate in which animal rights activism has spread to so many people, will be turfed out of office. All of their lies will be exposed and the public will understand what the real purpose of these lies was. Nobody will look up to these Bliars anymore and they will get the ignominy they deserve.

Fontella · 02/07/2010 08:24

Very heartwarming to read this thread, given some of the appalling stuff I've read elsewhere. I too couldn't believe some of the things written about this family, even remarks like 'live changing injuries? - the kid's only got a bit of a bandage on one arm' as if what happened to them was nothing.

Unbelievable! Can you imagine how terrified those babies must have been? Can you imagine the sight that greeted the parents? Most parents get upset if their child falls over and gets a nasty scraze or a bump, so just imagine seeing your children with numerous wounds, bleeding everywhere, and terrified out of their wits. Doesn't bear thinking about.

I a lifelong vegetarian, animal lover, anti-hunting and all the rest of it, but there is absolutely no excuse for what these people have been put through by so called animal rights campaigners. I don't doubt for a second that a fox caused these injuries, and I'm pretty sure that things like this will happen again. You only have to see urban foxes - they don't even bother to run away anymore they just wander around completely unconcerned about people, traffic, anything. An open window, an open door ... a child left for a few moments. That's the reality I'm afraid.

OrmRenewed · 02/07/2010 09:46

"what the real purpose of these lies was"

Well what was the real purpose of these lies then? And which lies? The 'lies' about global warming or the ones about it not being a fox?

Sammyuni · 02/07/2010 10:04

Claig lies?? which lies?

claig · 02/07/2010 10:27

the lies that humanity is the problem. The anti-human philosophies that say that humanity is leading to the extinction of life on earth, including human life itself. The anti-human philosophies that say that humans are leading to the destruction of the planet by exhaling and breathing and that we have already passed the tipping point and only have "50 days left to save the planet".
The lies say that humanity is the problem, and therefore the purpose of the lies is obvious.

Sammyuni · 02/07/2010 10:39

Well humans are cutting down forests urbanizing lands populating faster than our resources can catch up. It's pretty naive to ignore that fact

They may be exaggerating to some extent but the simple truth is that if it continues this way it will eventually lead to a major problem it might be in 500yrs or even 1000yrs or more i don't know but it certainly is not a lie.

The only animals (other than humans themselves) that thrive is those which adapt to urban lifestyle and we see them as a nuisance. The problem is that most animals cannot switch to that radical a change and they would eventually die out unless some intervention made.

OrmRenewed · 02/07/2010 10:54

"The lies say that humanity is the problem, and therefore the purpose of the lies is obvious."

It isn't to me. Sorry.

And in terms of environmental destruction humanity is the problem. No other species has the power to do so much damage currently. Not sure how you can argue with that fact.

claig · 02/07/2010 11:14

Sammyuni, the elite have been telling us the same lies since the dawn of time. Doom sayers existed in Roman days, when the population was only a fraction of what it is now. Liars like Malthus sprang up forecasting doom because humans were being born. The elites introduced the census over 100 years ago because they didn't like the fact that the masses were having children who were no longer dying off of disease. They're at it again. The Eton crowd greens like Jonathan Porritt and Zak Goldsmith are spreading the green message. Billionaire Teddy Goldsmith founded "The Ecologist" magazine and formed a party that was the precursor for today's Green Party. Sustainability is about keeping humans restrained and penned in. As SomeGuy said, planning applications are turned down to protect a supposedly endangered beetle. The elites don't want to build homes for people, they want them penned in, they don't want humans to thrive. They even want lynxes and wolves reintroduced next to where humans live. That will slow the humans down.

The elite are not stupid, they have created these movements and convinced naive left-wingers to join them. The left-wingers think they are fighting the big bad capitalists, they are like Don Quixote and Sancho Panza charging at windmills.

Their real agenda is anti-human. Here you can read what they want from the mouth of the Old Etonian Trojan horse, Joanthan Porritt
www.jonathonporritt.com/pages/2009/03/a_sustainable_population.html
it's all dressed up with big trendy words like sustainability to fool the lefties, but what it really means is population control for the masses.

Ryoko · 02/07/2010 11:15

Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.

Words of wisdom from Agent Smith.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 02/07/2010 11:22

In answer to the OPs question I realised things have moved on somewhat):

It is newsworthy because

a) It plays beautifully on peoples fears
b) It was an incredibly rare event

I was a bit about the bit in the programme where it said they had trapped and shot a further 5 female foxes in their garden. Female foxes that at this time of year would have been foraging for their cubs. They didn't all do it...

OrmRenewed · 02/07/2010 11:23

"They didn't all do it... " Well exactly! Smacks of retribution not prevention. And all those cubs starving to death

claig · 02/07/2010 11:27

"Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet."

that is the message they want you to believe, it is implicit throughout the media. Agent Smith is an agent of theirs. It is the same message that has led to ordinary people being fooled and becoming rabid animal activists who see humans as an enemy.

SomeGuy · 02/07/2010 12:57

I'm not sure that it's an organised conspiracy so much as a disjointed collective of human-hating nutters. Either way, the outcome is the same.

claig · 02/07/2010 13:02

when you see Bliar lined up with all the other liars, you know that it is organised. Climategate had the liars scurrying around for excuses. More Climategates will be uncovered, then we'll find out who the leading human-hating nutters are, not just the deluded misguided souls who have been tricked into following their agenda.

sherby · 02/07/2010 13:05

there is a family of foxes under a portacabin at DD's school, just outside the reception playground

nobody seems particularly bothered

claig · 02/07/2010 13:08

unfortunately that is to be expected sherby. Show them the Daily Mail article about the 3 year old that was bitten by a fox living under a portakabin, that might scare them into action, surely they should be liable.

Tenalady · 02/07/2010 13:14

Tis true, I thought it really was a family dog.
I guess this fox was the one bad apple that we find in every species.

But it beggers the question, if this was an urban fox with access to all sorts of goodies in the bins and streets, why did it pick on two babies and how the hell did it get up to their bedroom? The babies look bigger than the fox too!

Maybe this programme will clear it all up.

paisleyleaf · 02/07/2010 13:21

I'd thought the media were making it into such a 'story' to gather more support for Cameron to bring back his fox-hunting.
But I hadn't known about the animal rights campaigns and police guards etc.

'bad apple'? Foxes tear small creatures to pieces. That's what they do!

OrmRenewed · 02/07/2010 14:01

But not normally humans.

paisleyleaf · 02/07/2010 14:02

GiddyPickle, I wasn't thinking it would have anything to do with the parents' stance - just the media.
