Yes, it was indeed that pile of shite .

cyteen · 01/07/2010 12:44

Cheninblanc, that's my friend's site I do like a good branespeak.

claig · 01/07/2010 12:45

you're right it was Martin Durkin, wow, I thought the Marxists were behind the swindle. Will have to look into more

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Global_Warming_Swindle

Cheninblanc · 01/07/2010 12:49

Really cyteen? Cool! Tell them some woman you've never met off the internet thinks they're hilarious!

I also want to know about coolfonz and the wild boar?

AND what problem claig is referring to here; "What do these ecologists think the problem is?"

claig · 01/07/2010 12:49

interesting that Durkin says that global warming was actually promoted by Thatcher as a way of convincing people to go nuclear. That would tie in with the green God, James Lovelock, and his advocacy of nuclear power.

claig · 01/07/2010 12:52

Chenininblanc I have tried googling for the biodiversity expert who came out with those ridiculous statements recently. Can you google for it because you are more likely to find it as you know what language they couch it in? Once we have the article, we will probably see what they think the problem is.

OhYesIShipThat · 01/07/2010 12:52

I heard it was the Moomins.

claig · 01/07/2010 12:54

yes the Moomins were a break-away offshoot of the greens.

only more intelligent

Cheninblanc · 01/07/2010 12:57

I googled the obscure ecological terms;

biodiversity "human extinction" "100 years"

as I said, the pages refer to a Professor of Microbiology, not a "biodiversity expert".

Cheninblanc · 01/07/2010 13:00

claig I am still trying to understand what you thinks motivates "ecologists"? With particular reference to urban wildlife management and large mammal re-introduction programmes?

claig · 01/07/2010 13:01

hmmm I am sure I remember one of their global conferences, which was launched with the customary propaganda and I remember that this one used the biodiversity angle, rather than the more usual climate angle, as that one is beginning to wear thin with the public.

the moomins have global conferences?

and biodiversity rather than climate change angle In Reference To What?

OhYesIShipThat · 01/07/2010 13:07

It's a little known fact that the Moomins are obsessed with getting free biros, coffee and those little plastic namecard holders. They love conferences.

in reference to BS, telling us that we will become extinct and that the problem is humanity, which is driving mass extinction and destruction of biodiversity and supposedly causing climate change catastrophe. Which is why a rebalancing of the ecology is a must and why wild animals should be re-introduced and why humans are of secondary importance to biodiversity.

Sammyuni · 01/07/2010 13:10

Fox attacks are rare, they are wild animals thought so of course there will be occasions when they will attack.

Last i checked dog attacks are far more numerous i don't see an outcry to cull dogs.

Humans have continually populated and pushed into virtually every other species habitat with no where else to go what do you think will happen. Either they go extinct or they adapt to living in towns/cities.

We are a victim of our own doing.

Cheninblanc · 01/07/2010 13:17

so you are denying;

the rate of extinction of species around the world
AND the role that humans have played in loss of global biodiverity
AND the existence of climate change
AND the anthropogenic involvment in the rapid increase in global average temperatures

because this is all bullshit made up by ecologists in order to cover up some secret plan we can't be told about (but possibly world domination)...

Coolfonz · 01/07/2010 13:20

I hit a smallish boar, about the size of a large dog, with a stick, to try and move it out of the road where it had got stuck, i think it was v scared, possibly after being hunted/hit by a car.

Boar are wicked. And tasty. Although in hot/cold weather they will eat your entire veg patch in one night.

Coolfonz · 01/07/2010 13:22

The boar did try and slip me some climate change pamphlets though to be fair. I said "no little Boary, you and you're eco-brethren aren't fooling me with your conspiracies."

claig · 01/07/2010 13:25

it is not all made up by ecologists. We have already agreed that the Moomins are doing it and the ecologists are only the biodiversity part of the movement. The majority of the public don't believe in anthropomorphic climate change. There are ecologists who don't believe the alarmist pronouncements of the biodiversity experts. We know that many species have become extinct over time and that is part of nature.

claig · 01/07/2010 13:26

Coolfonz, was the bore's name Gordon Brown?
