I am also a Welsh nationalist, I am interested enough in the concept of nationhood to have pride in my own identity while respecting and actively taking an interest in other nations around me. I read french and italian at uni, did NOT drop out, and got a very good degree. I am living in France and my partner is breton.

Oh, that's OK - I dragged myself in, by accidentally posting a link to a rather virulently anti-Palestinian website on the Gaza strip thread - I mean I linked deliberately, but only to a page of maps and history, I hadn't seen the rest. Janh - masada2000 a website you have quoted from ad nausum on another thread talks about Islam "sodomising" the world and Arafat being "gay" - I won't bother posting other text from it - it is far too offensive. Janh - if you can't tell a non-racist website from a racist one, perhaps you should think again about why you post on "multiculturalism".

I did NOT make a racist comment about the Welsh. I DO think Wales is a dump in so far as I think, Welling, Watford, Wembley and Woolwich in London are all dumps. So, how is that racist ?

These places are geographic locations NOT people or a race or a religion. Therefore a comment about the state of a geographic location cannot possibly be racist. I have never, ever either on this website or elsewhere either insinuated or commented on the race of an individual. Those of you who think I have either can't read or don't understand what you read.

I oppose nationalists of any form or shape, because nationalism has led to the worst atrocities in living memory - that means Fascism in its various guises: National Socialism, Neo-Nazism, the National Front, etc. I doubt very much that the prof. who made the comment (obvioulsy he was joking about students who get 2.2's, etc. - he also used to say that he could tell which students had never bothered to read Kant and would love to fail them - but of course he never did - i.e. HE WAS JOKING).

He is one of the most respected Middle East academics this country has ever produced, so yes, I do find his comments funny, although I see very little humour in the racist comments made in the guise of multicultualism on this website.

Monkeytrousers - you are the only person of any intelligence and logic that I have encountered on this website and I have a lot of respect for you. As this is my last post (I can't be arsed as they say...) I wish you all the best

I do think I have a tiny amount of intelligence and logic, and I am interested in your views - but could we have them without so many attacks? Jan has said on this and the other thread that she missed the dubious pages if the site she was quoting - and is now no longer looking at that site.

I was one of the first people to take issue with Boris - and Jan - on this thread, but it's one topic discussion, there's no need to attack and abuse people.
But I would like to continue to hear your views.
