hmm. Did he just get the benefit of the doubt do you think - his word against hers?

Or "she knew what he's like when she chose to go back to his house"?hmm

Will she now be named?

These cases are horrible - really hard to determine who's guilty - maybe we should adopt the Scottish Not Proven verdict.

(put this in sleb twaddle before & then realised hardly anybody reads that!)

"DuellingFanjo - the Facebook pictures were allowed to be shown because the girl in question had stated that since the incident, she was afraid to go out whereas the pictures showed her on a range of nights out with friends subsequent to the night in question.

As I understand it, I think because she introduced this as evidence, the defence were allowed to use the pictures to refute it. "

ah - I didn't know this, makes sense I guess.

Ponders · 26/04/2010 21:08

It does make sense, & it means all her evidence becomes less reliable, doesn't it?

HB-"porn has really skewed expectations of what is normal sexual behaviour"

Quote of the week (for me, anyway)

DuelingFanjo · 26/04/2010 21:13

yes, it does. I can also understand now why they were allowed to use the pictures as evidence.

Alouiseg · 26/04/2010 21:27

If it's any consolation he's been named c*nt of the day on Twitter. He's following last weeks winner who was Robert Mugabe.

AnyFucker · 26/04/2010 21:31

huh...in certain circles "cunt of the day" is a prized accolade

rather like an asbo

There was a girl who accused the Hamiltons (ex-MP and his wife) of rape. She sold that to the papers and was found to be talking a complete load of bollocks.

I've read the article Dittany, and fair enough she seems more delusional than straight-forward liar, but she's still a woman who lied about a rape and sold her story to the papers.

Just because she doesn't fit your criteria doesn't mean she can be discounted.

Women lie about rape. I know.

BECAUSE I DID.

I was strangely drawn to this thread. Maybe I wish I hadn't been.

I was going to have up with some interesting facts re corroboration and whether that is pivotal to a conviction.

TimothyTigerTuppennyTail · 26/04/2010 22:17

I wanted the attention.

AnyFucker · 26/04/2010 22:19

did you get the attention you wanted/expected ?

hf128219 · 26/04/2010 22:20
