Baby is due in September

So baby could possibly be born at No. 10 Downing street....

BO I think LLJJKK's point is that they seem to have chosen CSs for their subsequent births so would prob do so for this one too.

lljkk · 22/03/2010 19:12

I just meant FAB that I tried to read up on what was causing Ivan's problems and I never found an answer, so I guessed between the lack of specifics and the subsequent elective CS that it was something that happened at the birth.
But thanks RW&B for clarifying (I know it's none of my business).
There was once a thread like this about Cherie Blair's miscarriage, too.
MNers can be very catty .

StuffedFullOfNothing · 22/03/2010 19:14

Yup, some pretty vile attitudes on here

teaandcakeplease · 22/03/2010 19:20

Yeah there's some nasty stuff on here. I think it's daft to even think it's an election stunt. It's lovely news after their loss. My first post probably didn't quite get that across right.

mrsdennisleary · 22/03/2010 19:24

Congrats to them. They should have baby wherever they want. It might be presumptuous to start measuring up no.10 for the birthing pool.
Hope that this gives him even more reasons not to cut maternity pay and leave etc as some of his backwoodsmen are urging him to do.

KimiGaveUpStarbucks4Lent · 22/03/2010 19:25

Lovely news, after the loss of their son a new baby will be a blessing for them.

niftyfifty · 22/03/2010 19:28

Great news . I can't believe some people can be so petty minded and cynical tbh.

missedith01 · 22/03/2010 19:31

yawn

Turniphead1 · 22/03/2010 19:33

I agree with Northernlurker and wish them lots of luck and joy.

The thought of doing interviews and campaigning etc whilst in early pg for me would me my worst nightmare, I hope Sam doesn't feel like that.

HumphreyCobbler · 22/03/2010 19:35

God I am so upset by some of the comments on here. They could give Labour voters a bad name, only I am not so stupid as to think they are actually representative of the majority.

It is really nice to think they are having a baby.

SPBInDisguise · 22/03/2010 19:36

Bariatric, I brought up the home birth, what do you mean?

SPBInDisguise · 22/03/2010 19:37

"The thought of doing interviews and campaigning etc whilst in early pg for me would me my worst nightmare, I hope Sam doesn't feel like that. "
Urgh yes, being on TV feeling a bit green round the gills

MrsPixie · 22/03/2010 19:38

Good luck to them, they have been through such pain losing Ivan.

Really wonder why some posters have to be so shitty and cynical about something like this.

Turniphead1 · 22/03/2010 19:39

I know! Of course she looks fab, as some women do. I have never been a "glower" in pregnancy. A diet of white bread will do that to you....

atlantis · 22/03/2010 19:44

"Urgh yes, being on TV feeling a bit green round the gills"

Maybe she should go for the interview with piers morgan I would pay to see someone throw up on him.

tatt · 22/03/2010 19:49

most people love babies and young children because they aren't cynical and twisted. They remind us of a time when we were better people.

I hope she has an easy pregnancy and delivery and that the child brings joy to the family.

LadyBlaBlah · 22/03/2010 19:50

I am just surprised they are having sex. I mean, could you ?

EffiePerine · 22/03/2010 19:51

What lovely news

BrahmsThirdRacket · 22/03/2010 19:52

Cameron's impression of Blair is getting really quite creepy now... Wouldn't be at all surprised if it bumped them up a couple of points in the polls. I wouldn't be surprised if that thought hadn't crossed his mind either - he is a professional PR man for God's sake. But it's still nice, and I hope she has a good time of it.

atlantis · 22/03/2010 19:56

"he is a professional PR man for God's sake."

And Sarah Brown wasn't in PR?

And Gordon wasn't advised to have a wife and kids if he wanted the top job?

So if were being cynical here we could say gordon married for the job and not love and his children are just accessories??

kittycat37 · 22/03/2010 20:10

Camerons losing a child - very sad.
Browns losing a child - very sad.
Both couples looking after disabled children - obviously challenging and worthy of admiration.
SC being pregnant - good for Camerons as a couple.

What does any of it have to do with politics / forthcoming election? NOTHING IMO.

I just find the whole blurring of 'human interest', political 'personality' and actual policy making really distasteful.

Not sure who's fault it is though - the media? Ours, for being interested in it? Theirs' (all polititians) for using spin when it suits them? Dunno.

So good luck to the Camerons and anyone else expecting a baby - but let's not confuse such news with anything political.

ShadeofViolet · 22/03/2010 20:11

I agree with Northern Lurker. Some of the comments on theis thread are bloody nasty.

AnyFucker · 22/03/2010 20:17

kitty is speaking most sense here

Hulababy · 22/03/2010 20:18

How lovely for them.

FabIsGettingThere · 22/03/2010 20:18

I agree kittycat. It was announced on the news as "one bit of political news".
