Baby is due in September

So baby could possibly be born at No. 10 Downing street....

OP posts:

"Atlantis - I think Carocaro was being facetious "

Then I apologise.

2old4thislark · 22/03/2010 18:01

Congrats to them both. TBH it's exactly what I would expect ANY couple to do, having lost a child.

Cynical bunch or b***stds on here!

SoupDragon · 22/03/2010 18:14

Dear god some of you are nasty.

teaandcakeplease · 22/03/2010 18:20

I'm sorry but surely people won't vote for a party just because his wife is pregnant? But due to whether they like their manifesto, beliefs etc.

I'm delighted for them after loosing Ivan but it certainly won't effect who I choose to vote for. Why would it, we're intelligent people are we not? We choose on more than something like that, on who runs our country surely?

crumpette · 22/03/2010 18:26

Congratulations to them, having lost a child just after their son died last year I have since had another baby, and I do not believe anyone would have a child under those circumstances just to increase voting or column inches. Very best wishes to them both.

StuffedFullOfNothing · 22/03/2010 18:29

Crumpette, sorry for your loss.

I agree, anyone who thinks they conceived a child as a cynical election ploy is getting a little bit carried away.

BariatricObama · 22/03/2010 18:31

this thread is an embarassment

katechristie · 22/03/2010 18:32

Fab news. any politician has whatever is going on in their private life scrutinised, if it wasn't a pregnancy it would be something else. If they'd waited 2 years and DC is PM then, the cynics would still say it was a political move rather than driven by their desire to expand their family.

Whatever jobs they do, it's obvious they love their family very much and I hope it's a good pregnancy for her, - she looked radiant and so happy on the clip I saw of her.

Northernlurker · 22/03/2010 18:41

I think this is the first thread I've ever read on mumsnet which has made me actually ashamed to be a member here.

They had three children living with them, they've lost one after 6 years of love and worry and now a year later they've conceived again. Bloody good luck to them. Could all of you blithering on about 'timing' and calculation just ask yourself this - do you honestly think they want anything, anything more than not to have their hearts ripped out like they were last year?

Shame on those of you who have thought and said such unpleasant things.

donnie · 22/03/2010 18:41

lovely news. Some bitter old witches on this thread though, and we all know SamCam reads MN. Nice one.

GeorginaWorsley · 22/03/2010 18:43

Totally agree with northernlurker
Am ashamed to be a mumsnet regular.

cluckyduck · 22/03/2010 18:44

Crumpette, well said.

paulaplumpbottom · 22/03/2010 18:45

I think thats wonderful new!!! Congrats to them both!

atlantis · 22/03/2010 18:45

" having lost a child just after their son died last year I have since had another baby,"

Ahh congratulations crumpette and so sorry for your loss.

FabIsGettingThere · 22/03/2010 18:46

Sorry for your loss Crumpette.

lljkk · 22/03/2010 18:50

Last 2 were planned CS (I think), so I reckon we can rule out Homebirth .

I tried to figure this out, though obviously none of my business -- but I think Ivan's problems had something to do with problems at the birth, hence the elective CS's afterwards.

Good luck to them, whether or not Cameron wins. Gosh, maybe they're human and hadn't really planned it at all, eh? Not that it's any of our business, anyway.

FabIsGettingThere · 22/03/2010 18:53

What do you mean you tried to figure it out, lljkk?

nighbynight · 22/03/2010 18:54

good to see some nice news for their family.

Cyclops · 22/03/2010 18:56

I'm really not sure how anyone could think Samantha Cameron's pregnancy is 'calculated'!! No woman can ever guarantee a conception

Good luck to them.

BariatricObama · 22/03/2010 18:57

'Last 2 were planned CS (I think), so I reckon we can rule out Homebirth grin.' ffs

madhairday · 22/03/2010 18:59

What NorthernLurker said

All the best to them. Lovely news

nickytwotimes · 22/03/2010 19:03

COngratulations to them.

Am dyed-in-the-wool leftie, but always nice to hear happy news!

cakeywakey · 22/03/2010 19:06

Glad to hear their news - it's lovely for anyone to happily announce a pregnancy.

Am also at some of the more cynical comments on here - not everything that politicians do is for show or potential vote grabbing.

ElenorRigby · 22/03/2010 19:06

They lost a child just a year ago.
Imagine the pain.
Good luck to them with their new bub.

redwhiteandblue · 22/03/2010 19:09

Ivan's problems had nothing to do with the birth, it was a genetic condition

Congratulations to them
