story here

Oh I would LOVE to see each and every single non-white british person join the BNP, turn up to all the meetings, vote in the AGM, maybe overthrow the leadership and take control of the BNP.

It would be WONDERFUL.

Heqet that is exactly whatI thought this morning.

I would love every black and asian person to join the BNP and subsequently make white people the minority in their own racist and deluded party.

It would defeat the object of their existence surely.

TigerFeet · 15/02/2010 10:43

DH and I both said last night that if we weren't white we'd be joining up toot sweet.

I rather hope that an awful lot of non-whites do exactly that.

heQet · 15/02/2010 10:44

Indeed it would. Destroy them from within. Get enough black and asian people as members, they're got serious voting power. The BNP could be totally changed. Gone.

snurk

scanty · 15/02/2010 13:31

ha, I left a comment on the DM saying just that - every black/asian etc person should join. Better go and check how many red arrows I got LOL!

StealthPolarBear · 15/02/2010 13:34

Actually, why shouldn't we (white people) join? Help the revolution! I will if you will

StealthPolarBear · 15/02/2010 13:35

sorry, that comment was to TigerFeet

StealthPolarBear · 15/02/2010 13:36

I love the way they choose such flattering pictures of Nick Griffin

UnquietDad · 15/02/2010 14:24

As usual, The Mash has it spot-on...

MmeLindt · 15/02/2010 14:28

Oh, yes. That would be truly truly fab.

I think we all need to link to the story on FB and Twitter

BadgersPaws · 15/02/2010 14:45

I'm not sure what he's got in mind but Nick Griffin has said that "the new constitution gave added protection to the BNP which would prevent anybody, no matter what their ethnic origin, from entering the party with the aim of causing trouble or subverting it."

Though given some of the other utter nonsense he's come out with I'm not sure how much we should believe him...

MmeLindt · 15/02/2010 14:47

Info here

Watching the Twitter feed over the weekend and watching the masses of Non-White British People suggesting that they should join the British National Party on mass and vote the current leadership out, this would have no difference other than to provide the BNP with extra money.

The BNP have the following rules on membership that everyone should note before even considering this course of action:

SECTION 15: VOTING MEMBERS

  1. A Voting Member is an ordinary current member who meets all the following criteria: (a) A Voting Member must hold two years continuous current membership i.e. 24 months.

(b) A Voting Member must have attended the required number of training events within the current year.

(c) A Voting Member must be a recognised activist as verified by their Regional Organiser. This includes as a matter of course, councillors and other elected members, branch organisers, fund holders and regional officers.

(d) A Voting Members must make a financial contribution, as defined each year. Councillors, branch organisers, fund holders and regional officers are exempt.

  1. Voting Members have certain special rights such as the ability to vote on policy at the Annual Conference and other functions and roles allotted to them under this Constitution.

So you can see by the BNP's own membership voting rules that will make it a pointless effort to try and change the party from the inside, the only outcome it would have is supplying the BNP with money for 2 years at which point they would no doubt find a reason to eject you from the party without good reason therefore stopping you having any voting rights within the part

nighbynight · 15/02/2010 17:00

I cant help laughing at this news - I am sure there are a load of black and asian people who share the BNPs views about race, but can hardly see them all getting on together.

Though maybe if they learn that people of all races can be just as bigotted as they can, then they wont be so suspicious of them...

Chil1234 · 17/02/2010 13:00

It would still make for interesting meetings if enough people - formerly excluded - were to join the BNP as non-voting members. Assuming they'd actually get past the neckless neanderthals on the door (unlikely) they could challenge the leadership with some good-natured heckling and a few thorny questions, perhaps....

Kirkers · 18/02/2010 01:44

Delighted to find this discussion.

Mne Lindt has answered some of my questions. Thanks.

Did anyone hear one of the blokes (Jeremy Hardy?) on the news quiz some time ago on this subject. He was being funny but he was sort of suggesting that EVERYONE who is anti-BNP should join and then vote someone sufficiently non-racist as president and completely subvert the whole party.

I think something like this (ie gaining influence inside an organisation by mobilising supporters to join and bloc-vote) with the National Trust and the anti-fox hunting people who voted anti-hunt people onto the committee and banned hunting on National Trust land. The Countryside Alliance hadn't thought of this but now they are all National Trust members too and will vote the other way. Which is all fairly benign to me and the beneficiary is the National Trust.

What would Nick Griffin want us to do?

(I am not on fb or twitter)

Kirkers · 18/02/2010 02:11

There is a website called 'nothingbritish', which is anti-BNP.

The bnp website says it is not accepting new members at the moment.

(trying not to think about 'training camps')

Oswald Moseley was very clever, very sporty,(fencing)very good-looking, a great orator, very charismatic and married to one of the most beautiful women in the country. I say this because it gives me comfort that Nick Griffin has hardly any of those advantages. He is probably clever but, fortunately, he is (to me) as repellent as his own politics.

Chil1234 · 18/02/2010 13:20

'Probably clever'? Did you see the big lummox on Question Time?... LOL. Clever was the last adjective applicable to him. His arguments were so incoherent and rambling that between the start of the sentence and the end, he often contradicted himself. He threw in marvellous gaffes like the one about his contact in a branch of the KKK... 'almost totally non-violent, incidentally'. If he'd had made any sense he'd probably been offensive. As it stood, he made no sense.

Kirkers · 18/02/2010 14:03

Chil1234;

I didn't mean clever as a compliment. See the way that members have to attend courses and pay in order to vote.. Nick Griffin has been quite clever about styming the plan to swamp the organisation.

At least we can agree that he is not charismatic? I don't want to bring Hitler into this but apparently he was charismatic and always remembered his secretary's birthdays.

That was my line of thinking, Chil1234

Kaloki · 18/02/2010 15:35

I was saying that to DP about Hitler, her was seen as charismatic and the public liked him. It comes down to something when we can say the Nick Griffin is less likeable than Hitler!

BadgersPaws · 18/02/2010 16:27

"I was saying that to DP about Hitler, her was seen as charismatic and the public liked him."

I've heard it put forward that a significant portion of the German public saw Hitler as being somewhat of a monster and a tyrant and as not being completely trustworthy.

However they also believed that he would give them law and order, solving the problems of the country.

So they willingly made a trade, and very badly misjudged that Hitler wouldn't just be bad for someone other than them but bad for the entire country.

daftpunk · 18/02/2010 17:49

As a BNP activist I welcome the decision. People seem to forget that alot of British born black and Asian people share the BNPs views on immigration and homosexuality, so a good move as far as I'm concerned. More members = more money and more money = more power.......

Lulumama · 18/02/2010 17:53

daftpunk, can i ask you what your opinion is re holocaust denial? if you are someone who sways towards that POV, as a BNP activist?
