jampots · 09/07/2005 23:20

HappyHuggy · 09/07/2005 23:20

was just on heart fm radio station. 100.7

HappyHuggy · 09/07/2005 23:20

they didnt say, just said a hotel in the center

kid · 09/07/2005 23:23

they are still saying it isn't connected to the London bombs. They said on sky news a member of the public contacted them.
No mention of explosives found, will keep checking news though.

HappyHuggy · 09/07/2005 23:42

Lost heart Fm - the office is on broad street so has been evacuatde. transferred to heart london.

chonky · 09/07/2005 23:43

There's been no more news on Brum Heart in past 10 mins

jampots · 09/07/2005 23:46

my friends birthday tomorrow so thought she would be out in city centre tonight so I text her. SHe had been at Mailbox but was evacuated so nearer home on Hagley Road now

alexsmum · 09/07/2005 23:53

Kind of connected....earlier today we were heading out of manchester on the motorway and we were passed in the opposite direction by a police bomb disposal van with its lights flashing, closely followed by 5 police vans. we wondered what the hell was happening.i think the police are being very alert to any possible danger.
i read in the paper that there is a fear that the people who carried out the attacks on thursday will feel that as they have blown their cover they will carry out more attacks before they are caught.I would soon be evacuated froma hundred shops or pubs than be caught up in anything like thursday.

hercules · 09/07/2005 23:53

any updates?

Gobbledigook · 09/07/2005 23:54

I'm scared now. I'm supposed to be on a hen do in Brum centre in a couple of weeks and I don't feel like going into any centre atm. Too scarey.

I know you shouldn't let it affect your life, but I've just heard that my MIL's best friend's daughter was in the Kings Cross blast - I don't want to say what happened to her but it's horrific and will impact on her life from this day forward .

kid · 09/07/2005 23:55

last I heard was the controlled explosion was following a phonecall from a member of the public. The officers now believe the item destroyed didn't pose a threat.

No more mention of it on sky news at the moment.

Hulababy · 09/07/2005 23:56

GDG about your friend's DD.

I live in a city centre. Not 1100% confortable with that right now. Wish the apartment would sell quick. But I am sure I will settle with time.

chonky · 09/07/2005 23:57

GDG about your news

hercules · 09/07/2005 23:58

It's awful to think that there will be some who will suffer because of that day for the rest of their lives.

dinny · 09/07/2005 23:58

there are bound to be many false alarms following the bombs in London. the real thing tends to take all by surprise. controlled explosions are rarely carried out on live devices.

jampots · 10/07/2005 00:00

GDG - why not try a smaller town instead of city centee?

HappyHuggy · 10/07/2005 00:00

I dont know whether to post this hear or where the hell to post it. Am on the edge of panic for the last couple of days cause of my friend and now this, feel sick and hes probably dead and can i need a big hug.

Jampots - it's a package thing, all arranged.

HH - I've not been on a while - is your friend missing?

I'm still in shock about this person I've heard about - I don't actually know her but my MIL does. She'll be in a wheelchair
