Xena · 09/07/2005 23:05

Sorry, we are looking on the news on bbc etc but can't find anything looking on the bbc website and nothing about explosions?? What has happened.

lemonice · 09/07/2005 23:06

It is a security alert rather than an incident

a few years ago when I worked in Birmingham City Centre it took about 1.5 hours to get into work one day by bus. When I got there I found that Brum was on security alert due to a coded warning saying that a device would go off in the city centre. I worked in teh Weslyan at the time (between Lloyd House and Post & Mail for any Brummies and ex Brummies). The tension was palpable - truly horrid. I took half a days holiday and came home by taxi. Hope everyone out in the City is ok.

Janh · 09/07/2005 23:07

BBC website, Xena.

Xena · 09/07/2005 23:09

Thanks JanH... I though someone said about a controlled explosion?

Janh · 09/07/2005 23:10

"No vehicles are being allowed past the inner ring road into the city centre, and there have also been reports of controlled explosions by police. "

jampots · 09/07/2005 23:11

the inner ring road isnt very inner either so being very cautious which is very good.

Xena · 09/07/2005 23:11

Oh right suspect packages etc.

jampots · 09/07/2005 23:12
