GF does not advocate not feeding hungry babies, quite the opposite. IIRC, nor do current issues of her book advocate leaving tiny babies to cry at all - she does claim that if inappropriate sleep associations are established sleep training might be necessary - presumably meaning CC. In some cases, I think she will be right.
I am no GF fan, but was bought the book by my mother and read it from curiosity. I was really surprised at how different it was to the MN version.
