pretty.
seriously WHO is this woman? I'd never heard of her before joining this site!

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 13/01/2010 17:46

I kind of get the control thing from having a rotten childhood as I cope better when I know what I am doing, my plans for the day, what we are all eating.

We did use the GF books but never once left the baby to cry or didn't feed them when they wanted it. We used them more for getting them to sleep at certain times. We also used the baby whisperer book for getting dc3 off his dummy.

I hope they have good lawyers at the Torygraph.

Nevergoogle · 13/01/2010 18:32

I would like to write to her directly and ask her to remove me from her list of 2million followers. Where does she get that figure from. Book sales?
Just because I bought the book, (and subsequently threw it across the room then gave it to charity), doesn't make me a follower of her style of parenting. Far from it.
She can tell Nick Clegg that she has 1,999,999 followers if she likes.
Unless all of us who have done that write to her of course, then she'd have to get her maths sorted out.

lou031205 · 13/01/2010 18:43

I think that article was chillingly cruel, to be honest. Whatever has happened between GF and MN (and yes, I was here. Yes, I do get how bad things were & how much worse they could have been), nobody would want their very essence picked over looking for clues as to how they became who they are, as if that was an abhorrent mystery. Poor woman.

TheCrackFox · 13/01/2010 18:54

Snurk

DorotheaPlenticlew · 13/01/2010 19:00

Agree with lou horrid and mean-spirited article. And I don't think it is actually accurate to say that she advocates not feeding babies when they are hungry I have looked at her books and she seems to constantly talk about the fact that they must never be left hungry.

Not that I am a GF apologist, or anything. But one must be fair.
