Wrong place for this but worth a try...

Does anyone know on the procedural side if there is a timescale that a SW should get back to you to tell you what they are going to do - what you have to do - or whether they are going to close the file?

I am getting more and more stressed sitting here waiting to find out what the conclusion is going to be and I'm worried they're going to let it hang over us over xmas

If you want JFF to assist you with a matter you need to email [email protected]. She will send you a form to fill in to get an advisor. (If there is someone available)

I'msonottelling, there are timescales if you live in. England or Wales and most likely local procedures. If you aren't getting what you need from the social worker, then I'd try their manager. Always useful to get another professional to follow up on your behalf if you get stuck. These can be quite useful informal routes to get the outcome you want, but obviously there are more formal processes such as complaints procedures too. Good luck.

Thanks John and wahwah.

I think I'll sit tight for a few weeks more and hope to get a letter saying it's all going to go away...

You wont hear anything till after Christmas ISNT sorry if that isnt what you want to hear but as its now the 9th December you might be pushing it if you want a letter this year. SSD will be busy this time of year more so at this time of year.

A phone call might be all need to do hen and it gets it moving along for you a bit quicker.

Hope you get it sorted though one way or another.
