I think it is a rather nice send off,
Fitting.
Nice to hear others sing his songs

Dittany- your certainty about your claims is surprising given that you have so much second/third hand info and flies in the face of what was tested in court.

Dittany- are you prepared to accept that you could be wrong? I think that he was probably set up but I could be wrong. What about you? Where is the certainty coming from?

Lulumama · 08/07/2009 17:34

some people seem to think that the normal rules of propriety don't apply to michael jackson, because he was michael jackson

so it was ok to share his bed with young boys, because he was michael jackson

it's a dangerous way to think

some slebs have proved that just being rich/famous/talented does not stop you having a predeliction (sp?) for children

Nancy66 · 08/07/2009 17:36

Jordy Chandler did NOT admit he lied after MJ's death...

Rhubarb · 08/07/2009 17:40

It is never ok for anyone, no matter who they are, to share a bed with children other than their own. I'm not a particular fan of MJ and would have seen him in court for that alone.

I don't give a fig about the man. But I do feel for his children, who have to live under that shadow.

He went to court. The evidence was produced. The jury deliberated. He was found innocent based on the evidence and witness testimony. There will always be those who claim a cover-up or a buy-out. I guess we'll never know.

I don't think his actions were appropriate at all. I find him very far removed from reality and very protected. But molestation? That's a big accusation. Speculation on whether a father may or may not have been an abuser doesn't sit easy with me, because there is a chance you may be wrong, there is a chance he was innocent. The jurors certainly thought so.

TDiddy · 08/07/2009 17:42

Lulumama - I think most of us are saying that his judgement was bad, his behaviour weird etc. But we are also saying that we aren't anything close to being sure that he was a paedo. Many of you seem very sure and that certainty is highly questionable.

Nancy66 · 08/07/2009 17:44

Rhubarb - the jurors had no credibility at all. Many of them had already arranged to sell their stories before the trial had ended.

At least two of them have since changed their mind and said that maybe he did do it after all.

Lulumama · 08/07/2009 17:45

so is the certainty that he was not a peadophile IMO

why are you so sure he wasn't?

why would it be such a big jump from sharing a bed with a young boy, which MJ admitted to many times, to fondling/abusing?

TDiddy · 08/07/2009 17:46

I wonder how many of those arguing MJ was definitely a paedo are the same ones that say the McCanns don't deserve any sympathy given that they made a mistake with their daughter. Cold hearts, I say.

PS Let's add the McCanns and Cameron vs Brown in the pot and have one big argument about every thing . Oh and whether Obama is corrupt is an old favourite that I used to argue with Dittany

Lulumama · 08/07/2009 17:47

quite, nancy

can you imagine being one of the jurors who convicted MJ of abuse?

you'd be hounded until your dying day

far easier not to convict IMO

tiddy, feel free to search my posts re the McCanns. don't try and put people in neat little boxes for holding opinions that differ to yours!!

daftpunk · 08/07/2009 17:48

don't forget the MMR debate Tdiddy...

TDiddy · 08/07/2009 17:49

Lulu- we have consistently being saying that we are not certain but that we think that he isn't gulity. Per above, I am happy to say that I am not absolutely certain of the innocence.

TDiddy · 08/07/2009 17:54

Shite- did i miss the MMR bun-fight.

Pan- perhaps we all ought to do some press up to calm down. Please remind us (me) about the regime.

Lulu- Okay, where do you stand on ID cards then? I may have to define a new box for you then

Lulumama · 08/07/2009 17:56

fair enought then tdiddy.
ID cards... hmm... will get back to you after some wine !!

what an extraordinary thing to say, pan. and dp, please stop trying to tell people what to post, this isn't a tribute thread, it's just a thread. go light a candle if you feel the need.

and THIS, btw, is simply nuts.

Pan · 08/07/2009 17:59

It's easy, tough.

  1. do as many as you can. say 12?
  2. Half that number ( 6), then the following day do that many, followed by a 60 sec rest. Do this seven times, one 'set' with 60 secs rest inbetween.( total 42)
  3. 2-3 days later, do the same but with only 55 secs rest in between each set. Again total 42 BUT you have increased the intensity.
  4. Do this each couple of days and you get down to about 20 secs rest and then it's difficult,

but you geta nice toned upper body, or at least the start of one.

AitchTwoOh: I am a bit nuts but did you detect any humour at all in my post?

TDiddy · 08/07/2009 18:09

Dittany- we aren't fence sitters if we say that we don't think he was but can't be certain and...by the way how come you are so sure given that your theory was tested in court and he was found not gulity (or some variant). I think that is a very reasonable position.

Pan · 08/07/2009 18:12

that's not nice dittany.

but will be off to do things.
