Here's one prediction www.predict09.eu/default/en-us/state_analyses.aspx#united

Cheeringly, it reckons that the BNP won't win a seat. Here's hoping.

Brons avoiding racism and talking about EU (seems fair enough in a Euro election), Nick Hitler going straight for it though.

policywonk · 07/06/2009 23:55

Do you think? Up 1.8% in Wales, down 0.2% in Yorks and Humber, up 0.4 in East of England - these are pretty rubbish results given the context (hugely unpopular government, economic crisis etc).

He actually turns my stomach. Fucking vile.

policywonk · 07/06/2009 23:56

Keir Hardie was Scottish, wasn't he?

Or are you talking about Scotland?

Wonderstuff · 07/06/2009 23:57

So dispite the vast majority of candidates being white men, white men are in fact the victims. Fuckingfucktwat. Is Brons an 'indiginous' name, doesn't sound very celtic to me..

SomeGuy · 07/06/2009 23:57

Doesn't matter. It's about winning elections.

Don't forget that Labour won in 2005 by about 3% - tiny- but with a massive majority.

That was because the Tories were unpopular.

Now that Labour are unpopular this is reversing, and the Tories made massive gains in the local elections on a 'poor' share of the vote.

Blair didn't care about his pathetic vote share in 2005. He won.

Same with the Tories. They are winning elections, not stacking up votes.

policywonk · 07/06/2009 23:58

Green Party is tweeting that Brons was fined £50 for calling an ethnic minority police officer 'an inferior being'

policywonk · 07/06/2009 23:59

Oh absolutely, I don't deny that they are winning (and will almost certainly win the GE). Or that Labour had a very tenuous mandate in 2005.

Just saying, if I were them I'd be wanting big swings. I mean, they need big swings for the GE.

North West figures now: Con 143,318, Lab 120,823, UKIP 86,470, Lib 74,761, Green 46,866, BNP 46,809

Scotland not declaring till Monday, as the Western Isles won't count on a Sunday. However, Labour's done really badly, and SNP have performed excellently across Scotland. Unfortunately due to voting system and the fact that 1 seat has been cut, there's really no difference in the outcome in seats - SNP 2, Lab 2, Tories 1, LD 1.
