ToughDad- don't get your first point about rationing sympathy. It doesn't seem to fit with anything anyone else has posted. For the record I do feel sympathy towards the McCanns in that whatever the circumstances they have lost their DD and of course are carrying a huge amount of grief.I would like to point out that I have never said I think that they killed her, just that IMO they know more than they are letting on.
Second point- the statistical reference to parents killing their own children was in response to your saying that grieving parents should be given the benefit of the doubt.
You wrote 'I quote you another statistic: most parents don't kill their own children.' to this I wouild reply most people's children don't vanish into thin air.

Dongles - re the sightings of a man carrying the child
Jane Tanners testimony is not terribly convincing. To begin with she saw a man carrying a bundle then it evolved to being a man matching R Murats desription carrying a child in Madeleines PJs. Now apparently the man looks like this Paedo. He and Morat look nothing alike to me.
The second witnesses to the man running to the beach with a small child later (after seeing GM carrying Sean )came forward to say they thought it was GM they had seen that night.

It is amazing how the timing of these new leads seems to coincide with things becoming sticky for the McCanns eg The truth of the lie being published

noddyholder · 23/05/2009 15:25

Katie is there one thing that made you doubt them?

drlove8 · 23/05/2009 15:29

imho jane tanner is perhaps deluding herself, her "shapeshifting suspect" is dubious tbh,.... the whole thing is such a mystery, who is telling the truth, and who is lying ? Its nigh on imposible to tell..., but i dont think any parent could harm one child whilst another two slept nearby.i dont think the McCanns did anything to maddie, except leave her alone when they shouldnt.

expatinscotland · 23/05/2009 16:20

He doesn't have to discuss anything with the McCann's investigators, the police went to question him on an entirely separate matter. Their detectives are hoping he 'sees sense' .

And tbh, if their people had gone and did what they have to me, I wouldn't give them the time of day.

drlove8 · 23/05/2009 16:27

am confused expat? . did you have contact with "their people"???? what did they do ? ( you can tell me to feck off if im being to nosy ,)

Quattrocento · 23/05/2009 16:30

I thought Expat meant that if a random investigator had outed her in the press as being a major lead/suspect in a crime, she wouldn't be overly co-operative. Not that she has been questioned by the McCanns. I may be wrong of course, and Expat is a gal of many tales, but somehow I don't think that figuring as a suspect in the McCann saga is one of them.

expatinscotland · 23/05/2009 17:05

What Quattro said.

Baby is a chunky, lovely lad who sits up and rolls all over the place and is trying desperately to crawl. He's got two bottom teeth, too!

He's positively scrummy.

Noddyholder If I had to pick one thing out I think it would be the sniffer dog evidence.
Why would cadaver odour be in the same spot as blood samples , behind the sofa by the window in the living room ?The blood had been cleaned and bleached but even in its degraded state their was a good correlation with M's DNA.
This doesn't prove mcCanns are guilty just that the abduction theory , which is the only one they will , or have ever entertained ,is very unlikely

Stinkermink · 23/05/2009 20:08

I think that was a lost in translation moment tbh. The cadaver dog read something from the wardrobe. The other dog found something behind the sofa.

katiestar · 23/05/2009 20:40

clip shows the dogs ie 'the human blood dog' and teh 'cadaver dog ' in the Mccanns appartment. They both react behind the sofa .Omly the cadaver dog in the wardrobe.
there are also videos showing no reaction by the dogs to anything in any of the other 'tapas 7' appartments.
cadaver dog also reacts to an outfit of Kates -pink and black check cropped trousers and pink suntop and one of madeleines t shirts, plus cuddlecat and hire car.

ToughDaddy · 23/05/2009 23:04

hey Katie-Trusting too much to others has been the ruin of many.

Lots of love

layman · 24/05/2009 11:08

Isn't it strange that this Hewitt guy (whose wife is 33) says that Madeleine looks just like his 3 year old daughter?

Isn't it strange that Robert Murat 33, when he was a suspect also said that Madeleiene looked just like his daughter?

www.nationalledger.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi?archive=12&num=13383

Is n't a strange after all this time, after all the stories of Madeleine being taken over the border that something must be done...more than just the Amber Alert btw..oh so much more.

Isn't it strange that Hewitt the man on his death bed with throat cancer tells us (yes the man is scum, but with links to what scum?):''He said it was common knowledge among locals that Praia Da Luz in general and the Ocean Club in particular was a magnet for Romanian gipsies who abduct and then traffic children''

Why don't you google the Marian Shrine Medjugorge?

Lots to think about.

There will be much signing up to Catholicism.

Let's hope they don't promote microchipping our children either when Madeleine the Miracle is found.

katiestar · 24/05/2009 17:56

Tiughdaddy don't undeerstand what you mean ?
Nor you ,layman ???

NationalFlight · 24/05/2009 18:03

Layman, what are you trying to say? I am interested to know but casn't understand the point you seem to want to get across...any chance of a simple resume?

NationalFlight · 24/05/2009 18:03

x posts Katie!! I was just reading all that then posted without refreshing...

NationalFlight · 24/05/2009 18:04

Yes I have no idea what Tough means either...and I HATE the way he keeps writing that at the end of his posts.

wotulookinat · 24/05/2009 18:04

I'm interested too but I'm not quite sure I get your point.

expatinscotland · 24/05/2009 18:07

I don't get either of you - ToughDaddy or layman.

Sorry, but I don't.

Quattrocento · 24/05/2009 20:02

I think layman is on drugs. Either he is or I am. And it isn't very likely to be me. Bizarre numerological theories based around the number 33, linked to catholicism. Do you think Opus Dei are involved?

ToughDaddy · 24/05/2009 20:18

katiestar and NationalFlight- I don't mean to be rude, I can be tangential and mildly sarcastic. Also I am struggling to articulate my point further.

My main point, though, is about the fact that it doesn't cost us anything much to give the McCann family the benefit of the doubt as if they are innocent then so many of us have been very very cruel with our speculating. This seems so frustratingly unnecessary. Is it not?

drlove8 · 24/05/2009 20:21

yes Quattro, tis defo drugs! , we do have ourselves here our very own mini dan brown!

drlove8 · 24/05/2009 20:24

wow TD i actually understood your post there!
