Another sad loss.

On the radio the other day I heard that after Jade Goody announced the news that her cancer was terminal, one of the first (anonymous) e-mails she received was one that just said 'Die Bitch'. There are some very sick people out there who have absolutely no human feelings. Sad but true,.

you don't know how many of us who see the gallows humour in a death list ( at cyril btw) have been affected by cancer.

It's very striking how the reaction to a bad-taste joke-post like tt's depends on the familiarity of the username that posts it.

Threadworm - do you mean that if a well known poster makes a joke then it is taken better? Because I seem to remember a real furore over Cod when she was here, and the Ipswich murders. Something about Norwich?

Not sure what you mean by that Threadworm, but for the record I've been posting for years and have recently namechanged. Part of my irritation is down to the fact that I think TT is trying to imitate another poster, and I don't think that poster is usually a) funnier and b) less callous.

Either way there's a whole huge MN out there for "gallows humour" posts, and I don't think this thread was an appropriate place for it. I acknowledge that I am probably being old-fashioned though

Gosh it would be an incredibly boring thing to imitate that poster, or any poster. Why would anyonme bother to do that?

God when I was little being called a "cyril" was an insult, he looks lovely there.
