It is very sad for them. No parent should outlive their child. Poor family.

chimchar · 25/02/2009 12:23

how awful....the loss of a child is something too awful to have to consider.

thinking of the cameron family, and also all those mumsnetters who know only how horrifc it must be.

glitteryb6 · 25/02/2009 12:25

all the party leaders were just expressing their condolances at 12, and they have suspended prime ministers questions for the day as a mark of respect, so very sad, Gordon Brown will be feeling it too after losing Jennifer at such a young age

WilfSell · 25/02/2009 12:26

Article reads eldest son now.

How dreadfully sad for them all, and all those who knew Ivan

Politics irrelevant.

KashaSarrasin · 25/02/2009 12:40

Very sad news Poor family

loobeylou · 25/02/2009 12:48

speaking as a mother who has lost a child, I really really feel for them.

I hope the media allow them some privacy

and i thought gordon browns speech was particularly poignant - do not underestimate how hard it must have been for him to stand up in such a public way and speak about the death of a child - the Browns must be reliving their loss too, as will be every parent who has lost a child.

so sad

ThePellyandMe · 25/02/2009 12:49

My thoughts are with the whole family.
