ha ha ha! good one, Dittany! honestly, being a feminist doesn't mean you have to completely abandon your sense of humour.

(yeah, like nobody's ever mentioned Obama's ]sex appeal, have they? [hmm}

Does Obama have sex appeal?
Where does he keep it then?

msdemeanor · 03/09/2008 18:54

Google 'obama sex appeal' and you get 320,000 hits!
Google 'Obama sexy' and you get *5,100,100' hits. Ooh, the misandry!

I keep reading Running Mate Palin is a creationist, but Dittany keeps insisting not. So I have stopped saying it.

Dittany, may I ask you something? Are you religious yourself?

Being a creationist means someone is unfit for office. It means you are an imbecile for a start. It also indicates that you are impervious to reason. Slightly worrying, I think, in the vice-president of the most powerful nation on earth. Whether you are a man or a woman.

msdemeanor · 03/09/2008 18:58

SOrry in my book being a feminist does mean checking your critical facilities at the door and supporting any woman, no matter how dangerous and woman-hating.

Just a historical note Dittany - Winston Churchill didn't 'take us into WWII'. Neville Chamberlain was PM at the time and for some months afterwards as I recall. In fact Churchill's belligerent views were very much out of favour in the 1930s.

Dittany - I think we all understand what a creationist is. Or is it that you are embracing your inner Bill Clinton (whatever the definitition of is is)?

MegBusset · 03/09/2008 19:02

I don't see how it's sexist. She is an anti-abortion, anti-gay, pro-death penalty, nutjob religious gun nut. Having a vagina does not make up for any of that, sorry.

NorthernLurker · 03/09/2008 19:07

shooting oneself anywhere is of course highly appropriate in the context of Palin though isn't it

msdemeanor · 03/09/2008 19:07

Yes, but you seem to regard every single criticism of any woman as wicked sexism or misogyny Dittany. Palin, especially given her extreme views, is not treated worse or differently than men in her position. They are all under attack and right now there are two not-physically-repulsive under 60 candidates in the presidential race - so not surprisingly a few people have noticed that. I find ONE reference in an internet post to the phrase VPILP and you nearly self-combust. Get a grip!

Swedes · 03/09/2008 19:07

I agree with MegBusset. I'm all for the progress of women. Especially in politics where we are so under-represented. But this woman? She's scary.

NorthernLurker · 03/09/2008 19:08

One could also say that she drills to the heart of the heart of the matter and that she's fishing for votes if one was that way inclined.

msdemeanor · 03/09/2008 19:08

Mind you, Sarah Palin calls herself a feminist

Swedes · 03/09/2008 19:08

NorthernLurker - Yes. She's pretty hunting shooting ice-fishing, isn't she?

Jesus Dittany, it's you that is obsessed about her being a woman and tying yourself in the most bizarre knots trying to defend her just because she is a woman. I think there's a kind of sexism in that, tbh.

Swedes · 03/09/2008 19:11

Dittany - she was chosen for sex. She was chosen to be used by a man as a pawn in a political game.

Swedes · 03/09/2008 19:13

Dittany I mean she was chosen for her sex. Not for sex, clearly. Is this progress?
