OP posts:
muggglewump · 25/07/2008 18:50

Part of me wants to relate to it, only because then I'd be a millionare too

LongLiveGreenElizabeth · 25/07/2008 18:50

Ivf no picnic. Could they REALLY have done this, when Shiloh was about 15 months old??? I don't think they could have been trying that long when shiloh was only 15 months.

LongLiveGreenElizabeth · 25/07/2008 18:53

Needamiracle, I thought I was the only one who can't move on. I can't forgive her for stealing Brad and I don't buy the goodwill embassador stuff!! marriage-wrecking whore!! (Too harsh?? I'm not even married and everybody else has got use to Brad and Angelina. Sounds wRong.

belgo · 25/07/2008 18:54

I don't believe this story.

I know two sets of boy/girls twins born recently to mothers in their early thirties, concieved naturally.

IVF is an incredibly stressful way to concieve children - I'm sure Angelina Jolie would have had far less stress TTC naturally with Brad Pitt!

As for many celebrates having boy/girl tiwns, apart from Jennifer Lopez and Julia Roberts, I can't think of any.

LongLiveGreenElizabeth · 25/07/2008 18:56

Tall women aged 36-40, who have already had at least one child are the most likely to have twins.

She falls into this category, almost. She's 33 or 34?? Tall, has had a child already.

ScottishMummy · 25/07/2008 19:13

us mere mortals have stress of daily living.big lips has stress of whether to boff brad
how the other half life eh

bergentulip · 25/07/2008 19:37

Longlive- I'm with you! I cannot accept their relationship, no matter how many children they decide to have!! Definitely a marriage-wrecking whore.
(!)

But really, I am above all these silly things......

MrsBick · 25/07/2008 19:37

If you check the dates, brad and jennifer had already seperated and had their decree nisi when brad and angelina were filiming mr & mrs smith.
There's about 7 months between the two relationships. (according to wiki)

who cares how they got their kids? they can provide for them, give them a great life and all their others look happy and healthy-what's wrong with that?
why can't people just be happy for them?

bergentulip · 25/07/2008 19:39

But Jennifer just looked sooooooo sad in all the papers!....... wwwaaaaahhh......
I am sure she and Brad were in Friends together only about a year before the whole Brad/Angelina thing happened....

... still maintaining I don't care about all this rubbish......

muggglewump · 25/07/2008 19:51

"who cares how they got their kids?"

It's not that I care as such.
What they do will never affect my life but I find it interesting. They clearly have a completely different way of life to me and choose to put themselves in the public eye.
I am also wanting to have a go on Brad very intereseted in Brad's films

ruty · 26/07/2008 09:41

i wondered whether they had had that groundbreaking treatment where eggs are chosen that don't carry the breast cancer gene - AJ's mother died of breast cancer quite young i think.

Eve · 26/07/2008 09:44

I wondered if JLos twins were IVF as well.

and Julia Roberts

ladytophamhatt · 26/07/2008 09:47

I posted a while ago about this saying i found it oddthat so many sleb twins were being born.

I find it really sad that they choose to do this, I doubt IVF is a walk in the park and it seems they just see it as a way to get exactly what they want....makes me a bit mad actually.
Its like they don't want to risk getting the wrong sex/combination.

All IMVHO of course.

belgo · 26/07/2008 09:48

where are all these sleb twins though? Doesn't seem that many to me.

ruty · 26/07/2008 09:48

Julia Roberts apparently had a history of twins in the family [knows too much petty sleb info emoticon]

I don't think that of jo public pruners. I imagine its a long hard slog to have successful IVF, even if it works 1st time.

But for slebs with bottemless pits of money its got to be easier becuase again IMVHO they have no presure for an early success and can pay for teh best doctors to select exactly what they want.

When I say loads of slebs, I realise there isn't tonnes of them....its all in my mind.
Sorry.

bergentulip · 26/07/2008 11:03

What ladytophamhat said....

Yup, I agree with this and if what I think is true, they are not under any pressure really because they don't need IVF at all, they are choosing to have it because they want twins. They have two chances of conceiving-naturally and via IVF which they can have as many times as they like using the best doctors and with far less of the everyday stresses that average Joe has as they have an army of minions to sort that out for them

MKG · 26/07/2008 13:52

Julia Roberts said on Oprah that her twins were IVF. I think she was 38 when she had them.

I think Jennifer Lopez's pregnancy was also IVF. She was always saying how much she wanted a family in interviews, and since she married Marc Anthony they were always asking her if she pregnant. She always looked a little sad when they asked, and I think her reps asked reporters to stop asking her. So who knows maybe she genuinely has fertility issues.

nooka · 26/07/2008 14:00

I think this is a bit crazy. I have a couple of friends who used IVF and it was anything but stressfree. Success rates are low, and I think the more "selective" you are the lower the success rate. It is not one of those things money can buy (although treatment is of course very expensive). They may however have used a fertility drug to increase the number of eggs released, but designer babies are still a long way off, and I don't think you can yet decide to have boy-girl twins, go to a doctor, pay shed loads of cash and nine months later have precisely what you want.

ladytophamhatt · 26/07/2008 14:57

Yes, muggle I missed that bit out.

Obv we don't actually know if they have fertility problems but that exactly what I feel too.

I think its a real shame that they choose to have IVF because they want a girl/boy/twins not because they genuinley have problems concieveing.
Mr and Mrs Jo Public have IVF to have a baby....

Of course we will never know if any of them have had problems but it does seem abit....ummmm..... convenient.

Pruners and any other IVF mums and dads, I am sorry if my comments upset you. Its not want I mean at all about any of your circumstamces.

ladytophamhatt · 26/07/2008 14:59

Nooka, sorry, I missed you're post but I bet you can.

Think of how BIG that pot of money is, Brad and ange are worth Millions and Millions.

I'mm sure most things come with a price.

muggglewump · 26/07/2008 15:24

I think the point is about the stress that the average couple having IVF need it as it's their only chance to have a baby, they also know they have X amount of chances, may be just one. On top of that is work that they have to do, mortgage, possible loans for this limited chance which may not be successful.

Brad and Ange don't have any of those worries, it's a choice they made and not one they made because it's their only chance of having a baby, unlike the average folk going through the process.
