I’ve obviously been entangled in an algorithm but it’s fascinating.

A youtuber throwing a hissy fit for not being allowed access to a child care centre and not understanding why.

Great bit of research

He is a YouTuber not an investigative journalist.

This is batshit crazy! I need to google. What has Somalia got to do with it?!

It's nothing other than racism.

Same as with the Haitians eating your cats and dogs

Ok.. but don’t you think a nationwide stopping of all childcare funding is a slight overreaction? Imagine if some nurseries here in the UK were fraudulently claiming for the free hours (I’m sure it happens, just because there’s probably fraud in most systems), and the gov stopped all free hours funding nationwide?

As ever, it’s the reaction that is the biggest problem 🙄

Thats not the fault of the person who asked the question, should he have kept quite when he found pretty damning evidence of fraud of public funds?

He is a YouTuber not an investigative journalist.

Yet he doesn't know anything about child safety.

Would you be happy if your children's day care let in some random blokes wanting to film them?

Or would you sue the nursery if they did?

Do you have access to the stolen documents?

You are wilfully missing the point.

It wasn’t actually a day care centre. There were no children. They just pretended to be one.

But there aren't any children there, that's the whole point.

Right. And I guess this “break in” where every piece of documentation pertaining to each child attending the centre was “stolen” is also just a racist attack? 🧐

I’m also seeing claims that it’s a racist attack on Somalians and that it was a holiday when the reporter showed up as the venues so therefore of course no children would be there! 🙄

Which is quite clearly desperate flailing to prevent the exposure of a situation that Trump & the GOP will/has dived on. I find it utterly fascinating that so many people are so ideologically captured that they’d rather see millions of tax payer $$$ pouring into the pockets of fraudulent chancers rather than admit there’s a massive problem amongst the Somalian diaspora in Minnesota.

Is fraud etc common among the Minnesota Diaspora?

According to this story and also a massive increase in children being diagnosed with “autism” and claiming associated benefits and financial support - amongst the Somalian community. Here’s a link. There’s plenty more.

They are also investigating medical centres (like a gp surgery) where you can’t sign up as a patient

there have already been over 90 prosecutions. Mostly from the Somalian community - I think around 83 Somalian and 7 were not of those 90

Tigger1895 · 01/01/2026 19:49

I’m reading…. The chief instigator in the fraud is a white American woman. The so called well known “reporter” has a mother who was accused of fraud. They went early morning, so of course there were no kids. Would you let a random man into your place of business if there were young children there?
as you said, the algorithm is pushing different versions based on who you follow.

Grumblies · 01/01/2026 19:52

I saw this and was really surprised that it seemed like no one actually visited these settings to confirm how they were run, surely that would be a bigger safeguarding issue than people complaining this bloke uncovered this apparent fraud by asking to see the children whilst knowing there weren't any actual children.

I'm amazed so many seem to have missed the point entirely that there never was any children.

what does his mother have to do with it? That’s an odd flex….

And if someone wants to explain how Ilhan Omar has accumulated a fortune of millions in three years on an annual salary of $174,000, I’m all ears 👂

Her husbands company has done very well.

The stuff about the covid fraud and the food program fraud is factual though right?

Sequinsoneverythingplease · 01/01/2026 20:08

The investigation didn’t even originate with Nick Shirley either, there was some other man who is being protected I think who had been observing the situation for months/years and he approached various investigative types but NS was the only one who picked up the story.

How lucky for them, and all in the 5 years since they married and she’s been a US representative.
