"These are adults who are responsible for small children."

Exactly! And any rational person would agree.

Except when it comes to the McCanns, of course. Because that's different. They made a 'mistake'.

QuintessentialShadows · 05/05/2008 12:23

that was directed at MP, not you Lapin

morningpaper · 05/05/2008 12:23

no I didn't say 'poor them they made a mistake'

But 'can you be any more selfish'? Errr yes actually, you can lock your daughter in a cellar so you can have sex with her for 20 years

They are just IDIOTS

QuintessentialShadows · 05/05/2008 12:24

I think those are highly different. And I think that discussion is best left on a more dedicated thread.

morningpaper · 05/05/2008 12:24

(and I agree with the poster who said that whoever served them is equally at fault - but obviously they won't get their children taken into care and the british press camping on their doorstep)

nailpolish · 05/05/2008 12:25

bogth are cases of neglect

and that was directed at Bobbysmum

What is it with me today. I just get too upset about the suffering of little children. Read the mortuary of a much wanted little baby today. He lived for 24 hours.
I should go eat cake.

CrackerOfNuts · 05/05/2008 12:27

I am not sure how judgemental I can be about this, considering the thread I posted yesterday morning.

bobbysmum07 · 05/05/2008 12:31

Personally I think everyone has a right to be as judgemental as they want.

It's the hypocrisy I can't stand.

nailpolish · 05/05/2008 12:33

but surely you are nt a hypocrit if you can swear you would never do that

which i do

also wouldnt leave children in an unlocked holiday apartment, but thats a different thread

OP posts:
bobbysmum07 · 05/05/2008 12:38

You are a hypocrite if you judge one parent for doing something that puts their kids in danger while refusing to judge another on the basis that the second parent made a 'mistake'.

Especially if your refusal to judge the second person has to do with class or identity.

nailpolish · 05/05/2008 12:40

im not refusing to judge them

im just not in the mood to discuss the mccanns

that has been done to death

OP posts:
bobbysmum07 · 05/05/2008 12:41

And I'd go so far as to say that it becomes dangerous when society does it.

Especially when the second parent is a suspect in their child's disappearance.

Lulumama · 05/05/2008 12:43

i think it is to do with foresight and what is reasonable to foresee happening

leave children asleep in apartment, whilst dining, regular checks, would any of us have considered abduction as a reasonable thing to foresee? maybe a child waking up frightened or sick or upset, falling out of bed etc.. but not abduction

drinking more than a couple of beers in hot sun , both parents drinking for hours, is it reasonable to foresee that the parents would both become insensible and incapable of taking care of their children? yes , it is

that is the difference, not class or colour or cuteness of the children

bobbysmum07 · 05/05/2008 12:43

Of course you're not in the mood to discuss the McCanns. You've dug yourself into a hole with your opinion on them when it comes to expressing an opinion on this, haven't you?

nailpolish · 05/05/2008 12:43

if you want to have a discussion about the mccanns then do it with someone else! i have my opinions on them but cant be arsed discussing it

OP posts:
nailpolish · 05/05/2008 12:45

wtf are you on about?!?!

i have siad i think both cases are neglect

i have said i woulndt get drunk in front of my children neiter would i leave them in an unlocked holiday apartment

are you trying to put words in my mouth - that i dont judge the mccanns cos of their class

you have picked on the wrong person im afraid

OP posts:
wildhorses · 05/05/2008 12:45

Both these parents got drunk without thinking it through -the KIDS WHO WOULD LOOK AFTER THEM??????????

Thats Neglect

If you fancy a drink then you take it in turns BUT not to the point where you can`t walk or see fgs

bobbysmum07 · 05/05/2008 12:45

Hypocrite.

nailpolish · 05/05/2008 12:46

god you are being sucha bitch

how fucking dare you

OP posts:
Saturn74 · 05/05/2008 12:47

bobbysmum - you are making no sense.
NP is not being hypocritical.

wildhorses · 05/05/2008 12:48

lulumama
You are spot on

Lulumama · 05/05/2008 12:49

bobbysmum only comes here to make nasty , ill thought out statements that are designed to inflame and annoy. she is a troll IMO as her sole aim is to create trouble

bobbysmum07 · 05/05/2008 12:49

Maybe I've got the wrong person then. In which case I apologise.

I was aiming that at all the other apologists for the McCanns.
