I was recently talking about her on the steiner/waldorf thread and read tonight that she has just split from her husband partly due to the lifestyle change required by steiner schools.
Just wanted to post here, incase anyone knew her and could point her to the thread here

OP posts:

Beetroot and Sheik
I dare you to go on mothering.
They've banned me....but before they did, they said they were "reerved and co servative" HA HA

northernrefugee39 · 16/04/2008 17:46

How about a mass run on Green Parenting too?
They closed down a thread on because "someone" threatened law suits.

Solitaire · 16/04/2008 17:46

an amoeba?

northernrefugee39 · 16/04/2008 17:51

... codpiece, I meant to put reserverd and conservative.

NotABanana · 16/04/2008 17:55

I read a recent interview with her and felt she described PND pretty well. (gave it to MIl who won't try to doesn't understand)

A real shame that they have split. I thought they were great together.

Beetroot · 16/04/2008 18:03

omg those poems

Janni · 16/04/2008 18:27

I have had numerous unfortunate encounters with the buzzy one and another totally nutty steiner devotee called Lush007/Phoenixshytes.

I have six years experience of having children at a Steiner School.

If you are looking for a well-managed, safe environment with clear boundaries, forget it. If you want your children to be intellectually stimulated once they are past kindergarten age, forget it.

I made a big mistake.

cocolepew · 16/04/2008 18:31

is that pronounced phoenixshites?

tegan · 16/04/2008 18:36

found this on wikipedia

Melinda Jayne Messenger (born 23 February 1971 in Swindon, Wiltshire) is an English television presenter and was one of the country's most successful glamour models.

Married to Wayne Roberts since 1998, she has three children, Morgan (April 7, 2000), Flynn (2002) and Evie (December 2003). She separated from her husband on 15th April 2008.

so it must be true

northernrefugee39 · 16/04/2008 19:44

Is the "Steiner school evil cult" you tube link working barking?
Or has bee threatened it with a ;aw suit, had it blocked?
It won't work.

northernrefugee39 · 16/04/2008 19:46

the mothering poems...I've lost the will to live

barking · 16/04/2008 19:54

Hi Northern what a strange day in mumsnet land!
Just tried the link and it is still working

OP posts:
northernrefugee39 · 16/04/2008 20:04

thebee, I just want to say this;
I don't "promote myths";
I tell our story, my kids experiences which were exacerbated, fueled and led by anthroposphy.

Your sites promote halcyon "myth" of Steiner.

They ignore the crazy beliefs, the inherent doctrines about race,( all kept from public knowledge) and the secret esteric nature of the whole construction of anthroposophy.

Go and enjoy your anthroworld.
And leave everyone else alone.

DianaW · 16/04/2008 20:32

If anyone is "promoting a myth," it's Mr. Busybee. He believes in Steiner, Steiner is his guru, All Hail Steiner, Long Live Steiner. What goes on in real Steiner schools, what really happens to kids in Steiner schools, it makes the most sense to ask Steiner parents, like Northern, Barking, and Janni. Not someone whose reason for living is promoting Steiner. Mr. Bee has told us elsewhere that he does not work for a living; his full-time occupation is promoting Steiner on the Internet.

zzooey · 16/04/2008 20:32

Thebee:
"And, I forgot, in Sweden, where I live, the Waldorf schools are integrated in the general school system and financed by the state."

Unfortunately. I'm a Swede too, and I don't appreciate that waste of public money, and I don't want to pay taxes in order to finance these nut houses.

Waldorf schools are not integrated in the general school system. They have nothing to to with the general school system, they don't have to follow the same rules and guidelines on several important issues, but they gladly accept the tax payers money. It's damn scandal that this is allowed to go on, entirely without questioning.

The waldorf schools are so badly integrated that children can't leave waldorf and go to the public school. Because they don't have the prerequisite skills and knowledge. That's NOT integrated.

Another aspect that shows a lack of integration in society in general and the school system in particular is the constant vilification of the ordinary world. That's the sentiments that are fostered in waldorf.

Those sentiments can easily lead to the split of marriages, when one partner focuses all money and energy and time on the Cult Project, and the other partner won't have it.

I personally know of marriages that have gone in the dumps becuse of on partner's involvement in anthroposophy. It's sad. And it's sad for the kids when one of the parents try to rescue them from the cult environment of the waldorf schools - in addition to trying to give them a glimpse of the normal world that the cult parent won't allow them.

Shame on you Sune/Thebee for promoting your cult at any costs. You don't see the lives that are left in ruins, educations being destroyed, psychologcal damages, as a consequence of your own cult and the behaviour of your fellow cultists.

zzooey · 16/04/2008 20:37

"The present Minister for the Environment in Sweden also is a former Waldorf pupil,"

Yep he his. And he's a man who could make anyone want to puke, it's my honest opinion. Because he's so stupid. Product of crap education, I suppose.

Of course the anthros want to have people in "positions" in society. Those people support their causes.

This minister, btw, comes from a VERY wealthy family, and his father was a prominent anthroposophist. They donated a fortune to the anthro movement. The money is used, among other things, to (covertly) produce "research" that can serve the movement's ends.

You're bragging about stuff that isn't anything to brag about - because you think that british mums don't know these things, so you're free to bluff.

northernrefugee39 · 16/04/2008 20:42

Oh thanks barking, I missd that.
my pute must be odd.
Thanks for making us laugh so much...

And hope your house move goes well. You must be feeling jubilant.

Get those parting gnomes lined up...

Diana, have you read this through?
See the posts about mothering?

zzooey · 16/04/2008 20:49

Thebee:

"including NR39, early posted both my first and my full name in this open internet forum, without asking me for permission to do it, and continue to do it."

No. I did that. Yet you have been obsessed stalking Northern for weeks now. I have told you it was ME who disclosed who you are, your name and the names of your all web sites (which you present as 'neutral information') - but you just don't care. You want to stalk Northern, because you think you can scare her. Or you think you can scare others away from voicing opinions when they see what you do to her - and indirectly how you threaten her kids. (You see, for those who don't know, he can't make me into an 'example' to show off, since I don't have any kids.)

I'm starting to think you're a really mean man, who can't even begin to think once or twice about what you're doing to people who ask you to refrain from posting their names in protection of their children.

I posted your name, not Northern. She should not have to take crap from you because of me making that decision. I was the first person to name you, and present who you are, and Diana, Pete, Davy inter alia, have all named you, called you by your real name. Yet you don't attack any of us because of it. You only attack Northern because she asked you to not post her name.

zzooey · 16/04/2008 20:56

Thebee:

"Probably nobody with personal experiences of Waldorf schools has unbiased opinions of them."

Well, will your opinions on your latest chicken burger be unbiased, if the chicken burger made you puke? Will you still think - this chicken burger isn't worse than the ones that did not make me puke?

"NR39 falsely accused me of trying to find out what school her children go to."

Well, that's your modus operandi. I bet you tried to to this to Northern. You stalk. Of course you want to know where her kids went to school. You track her every step.

"In response to this, I told I had not tried to find out where she lives, meaning where her children go to school (In Sweden, where I live, your children normally go to school where you live, being the reason for what I wrote)."

You know as well as I do that that rule does not apply to "free" schools, which is what waldorf schools have always been. It's not normal to go to a school were you live, if the school is not a public school.

zzooey · 16/04/2008 21:31

I'm amazed he hasn't posted his celebrity lists yet!?

Who's Melinda Messenger? I honestly have no idea. But my clairvoyant ability tells me she will soon be on Thebee's list of celebrities who applaud waldorf. (And in this case, unlike the other celebs Thebee lists, there seems to be some substance to the claim.)

MM - top prize at any Steiner School fundraiser

jenk1 · 16/04/2008 22:00

im interested in this as my cousins son who is 3.5 goes to a steiner nursery.
when he visits, we are not allowed to interact with him, we werent allowed to hold him as a baby, he has to eat his meals seperate from the rest of us, both his parents sit with him and dont let him interact with the other children.
his mum doesnt bother with us or speak and they hardly visit.
i always thought it was strange the way they were with him, dont know if its the steiner way or if its just them.

zzooey · 16/04/2008 22:11

Littlelapin:

Thanks. Something tells me it's just as good that her fame has not yet reached my nation.

easeonline · 16/04/2008 22:12

Tricky one jenk1.I suppose it depends how far into anthroposophy the parents have gone, but maybe this will indicate something, maybe not:
"Eating and drinking are done every day on impulse, from instinct. It really takes a very long time before someone who is evolving spiritually, so to speak, includes these things in their spiritual life. For eating and drinking will only be included when we can understand why we need to rhythmically ingest physical substance in order to serve the progress of the entire world. Furthermore, we we must understand the relationship of the physical substance to the spiritual life, and the ways in which the metabolism is not only physical, but also spiritual because of its rhythms"
Please let me hasten to add that this is Steiner, not me.
There is a little more on this if you are interested at my own website; www.easeonline.org/The_Lunch_Box.htm
Visit or not as the mood takes you, make of it what you will.
