Red Bull suspend woman who accused Christian Horner of inappropriate behaviour

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/68501426

Jesus wept. That poor, poor, woman.

The leaked texts clearly show it was an abuse of power & position by him.

How TAF is it now the woman that is in the wrong?!

I just don't understand how this can happen! Poor woman.

CH is desperate to hold onto the job isn't he. Like someone hanging onto the edge of the cliff with the tips of his fingers. Hope someone stamps on them soon!

with respect they don't show that - there is lots of evidence they are fake (or at least some of them are/lack of capital letters etc) and she has been suspended as a result of the enquiry. Hopefully they will actually explain something at some point and stope all this speculation!

Maybe they thought she was behind the leaked messages?

What was the evidence they were fake?

I agree there is no evidence either way on proof of fake or not, but I suspect they are very real.

It's awful.

Whenever I see the Red Bull logo it reminds me of all the sleaze. 🤢

Their PR team will have an impossible task to turn public opinion back to positive.

If you’ve ever followed F1 then this will be no surprise sadly. Horner and Red Bull are known for being incredibly harsh and brutal in getting rid of people.

What has she been suspended for? Presumably that means there will be an investigation into her conduct? Which will establish whether the messages were real?

If paints a quite frankly horrifying picture of working for Red Bull.

I had always previously liked Red Bull's brand -the amazing dance competitions, the inclusivity, the diversity. This makes me think Red Bull stinks.

This looks absolutely terrible for Red Bull given that they did not suspend him whilst the investigation was taking place.
I actually thought the leaked messages were real because they were so mundane.

The women is always at fault while the (lucrative) male walks away scot-free.

Who actually has any power to deal with him? Has he done anything illegal? Under which jurisdiction? I.e. what does the campaign need to be?

During one F1 season Mercedes had to rescue a woman from the Red Bull part of the crowd because she was being abused, they let her stay in their garage for safety. Red Bull, Horner and Verstappen have always been arrogant and awful.

where can I read the leaked whatsapps please? All the links I've followed so discuss them but don't actually show them.

Are they mundane though?

Or is the bar for male employers just so low that we're used to it?

F1 is another arena that needs a #metoo moment. Whatever the truth of this story, the optics of dumb rich, white men, and what they continually get away with, has got to be exposed and shamed.

Christian Horner is the next Jimmy Saville. I'm not calling him a peado but he is an abuser and he's got so much power for some reason that he gets away with absolutely everything. He needs to be stopped.

They're mundane in so far as the surface level content.

In terms of the bigger picture, no they're not. They're clearly showing an abuse of power, a woman saying no and being ignored, and harassment. Far from mundane.

If the leaked messages are fake why has no one from RedBull, Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner, FIA or FOM put out a press statement that they are fake?

Were all the messages leaked or just a selection?

How were the messages leaked? If the suspended employee had anything to do with the leak it is highly probable it is a breach of GDPR and could constitute gross misconduct.

The BBC report states the suspension was for being dishonest.

It is going to take a long time for this to be resolved. The leak has complicated the matter and it may have been better for the employee to have appealed and then go to an ET or equivalent depending on which country had jurisdiction to hear the case.

No HR professionals in here then?

How TAF is it now the woman that is in the wrong?!

BBC Sport has learned the reason given by Red Bull to the employee was that she had been dishonest.

This could be a completely separate issue.
