Red Bull suspend woman who accused Christian Horner of inappropriate behaviour

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/68501426

Jesus wept. That poor, poor, woman.

The leaked texts clearly show it was an abuse of power & position by him.

How TAF is it now the woman that is in the wrong?!

It’s not impossible that she thought he had deleted their chats and so made some new ones. Maybe he didn’t delete them. Maybe they were backed up and show something very different.

None of us know though so not helpful to jump to conclusions.

So much for girl power eh Geri? 😒

with respect they don't show that - there is lots of evidence they are fake (or at least some of them are/lack of capital letters etc) and she has been suspended as a result of the enquiry. Hopefully they will actually explain something at some point and stope all this speculation!

Oh! Didn't know that. Yeah it says she was dishonest. So who knows what's going on there?

volie · 07/03/2024 16:36

What's he actually done? I still haven't been able to work this out. Someone please explain.

I saw some screenshots that were apparently of the leaked messages. Looked utterly mundane. So he and a female employee were messaging each other? And?

Yes...let's have a pop at the abused woman who is probably too scared to leave a man who's a powerful bully 🙄.

Dartmoorcheffy · 07/03/2024 16:52

It' is very easy to find out who the woman in the middle of all this is. She's not a young naive junior in any way. Jos verstappen is also heavily embroiled in it too. Its definitely not as cut and dried as it looks.

DurhamDurham · 07/03/2024 16:58

Let's keep the hate on CH rather than his wife. His behaviour is not her responsibility. She clearly has terrible taste in men but to bang on about 'girl power' is awful.

DaughterNo2 · 07/03/2024 16:59

Possibly that she’d signed a NDA and the ‘leaked’ texts contravene that?

Out of interest, if they were fake why when asked about the images in a press conference today did Horner refer to them as the ‘leaked images’ rather than saying they are fake?

Because nothing had been proved.

The messages imply there was some sort of physical relationship. She makes it clear she isn’t doing that anymore and he (allegedly) keeps pushing it. He was in a position of power over her. Even if it had been consensual previously, she is trying to show that his behaviour was unacceptable for a period of time.

Dartmoorcheffy · 07/03/2024 17:11

It's possible that there are genuine innocent texts mixed in with fake ones . It's starting to look like a stitch up. Certain people have wanted ch out for a while and this could all be part of a scheme to get that.

ColleenDonaghy · 07/03/2024 17:12

If they were fake both Horner and RB would have gone scorched earth within minutes of the leak last Friday.

Sadly it's not surprising, the woman losing her job while the man gets away with everything.

I hope she's ok.

DrJoanAllenby · 07/03/2024 17:13

The enquiry found him not guilty and the leaked texts may have been faked by her resulting in her expulsion.

Yes I thought the messages showed her walking the tightrope between saying no and keeping the boss happy. I read it that there had been a relationship but that she was no longer interested - which of course was her right.

Now I'm seeing comments like "She's no saint" - it's just all a different flavour of "look what she was wearing, she was asking for it".

ColleenDonaghy · 07/03/2024 17:15

Cas112 · 07/03/2024 17:12

There has been some discussion from reputable F1 journalists that they're fake. WhatsApp automatically capitalises the start of a sentence, and Horner typically uses capitals but the messages don't. And the screenshots are from an old version of WhatsApp.

But the fact that Horner hasn't denied the images at every turn tells me more than that and IMO they are real. And that does seem to be the prevailing view in the F1 media, although obviously everyone is being very careful with how they phrase it.

Dartmoorcheffy · 07/03/2024 17:17

The woman is involved with jos. That's no secret either.

So? That's neither a stain on her character (if perhaps not the best judge of men Grin ) nor anything to do with whether Horner behaved appropriately.

No, but it does give reason for why the messages could have been tampered with. Jos is a very very nasty bloke and I really wouldn't put anything beyond him to try and get what he wants

Jos is nasty but he's no genius schemer either. Suspect he's also a pawn in the power games.

Are they mundane though?

Or is the bar for male employers just so low that we're used to it?

I think I meant that it was interspersed with boring work chat, not that it was okay. Although would equally agree that the bar is somewhere in hell.

It's all over the f1 forums and easily googled. There's lots of photos too.
