BBC News - Nicola Bulley: Partner describes perpetual hell over missing mum
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-64450243

Just been reading about this. How awful for her partner and children. Really hope she is found soon

The police can't find a woman in a yellow coat with a pushchair in a village? This is just more than a bit weird now

Exactly.

8 days on, too. WTF

They're playing for time...

mumyes · 04/02/2023 18:42

mumyes · 04/02/2023 18:33

Just bizarre...the police I mean.

It's starting to really feel like they are almost stringing this out in a really weird way...

I seriously hope they are much cleverer than it seems...I'm sure they are...

By 'stringing it out' I mean this is the third witness they've publicly said they 'wanted to find' quite a long time after the event. I suspect all of these people would have been quite easy to locate, and I also suspect they have been spoken to already.

Just odd.

ofwarren · 04/02/2023 18:51

Reading the comments on the police Facebook, a cousin of the woman in yellow has named her and said they are now in contact with police.
Someone asked if they had any info, the relation said no she doesn't.
I'm sure she would have come forward before if she did anyway.

Saucery · 04/02/2023 18:53

Didn’t the woman in the red coat say the police had already spoken to her before the appeal to locate her from CCTV?

Yes, I'm sure I read that

Dilemmaemmaaa · 04/02/2023 18:55

You’d think in a place of that size they could show that picture to 10 people in the street and most likely get an address to go and speak to her. It’s an extremely clear picture. Imagine your picture was broadcast to the nation. Obviously it’s important they find every witness or potential witness but surely they could find them without sharing their picture nationally for people to maybe even speculate about them. I’d say they should only share it on that scale if it’s someone they actually think could have done something that needs found immediately

Totally agree
Poor woman is all over BBC News and all the newspapers

Imagine how embarrassed but also annoyed you’d be to see your picture live on sky news if you’d actually already spoken to them 🤦🏼‍♀️

Northernlurker · 04/02/2023 19:04

I agree too. This is not a hard person to find. Now she's going to have everybody who's ever met her messaging to say 'oooh what did you see' when she's most likely already quite stressed and sad about the events anyway.

I would imagine that sometimes police want to understand more than just did she actually see Nicola! By knowing where this person was during which times, they can also use it to rule out Nicola not being present if she wasn't seen, as well as who else might have been around. (if that makes sense?!)

I never thought of that.
She could rule out nicola leaving by a certain exit because she was near it at the time, type thing.
Good point.

MovingOnwardsandUpwards · 04/02/2023 19:15

Looks like two people in the top left background of this picture that was put out to find the woman in the red coat. Poor woman must have been horrified seeing a picture of herself all over the news, especially if she'd already spoken to the police! Similarly the woman in yellow. Surely they could have described them and asked them to come forward, they were both in distinctive coats.

I'm guessing that if your fitbit was in water, it would stop syncing?

If it’s not within the range of the Bluetooth on the phone it can’t sync

Moonlightdust · 04/02/2023 19:31

This doesn’t fill me with a lot of faith 😩 www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/23045208.lancashire-police-told-improve-way-investigates-crime/

Sadless · 04/02/2023 19:58

It might be because Lancashire police aren't use to dealing with proper crimes really. Maybe they should be getting outside help this does seem a mystery but surely if someone goes missing near open water they would be checking that first.

They've dealt with plenty! It's hardly a tiny back street police force just because it's in the north Confused

ChocChipOwl · 04/02/2023 20:09

@Sadless ah yes. All those backward police officers in the northHmm

Rebel2023 · 04/02/2023 20:11

If anyone looks at the Lancashire police FB page, in the last week they've posted about a murder, a manslaughter and a gun discharge

Sadie Hartley? That was a huge case

ofwarren · 04/02/2023 20:15

Local paper sharing the info from the family friend that I shared earlier

Sadless · 04/02/2023 20:16

I live in Lancashire over side of Preston there not exactly murders everyday. Well rape in local park last night but first in about 20 years. Its mostly crime by druggys, car theft and anti social behaviour with kids and its a small town. So when the police get something different can they deal will it

Oh wow, has this been confirmed? Doesn't this mean she was within bluetooth range of her phone 4 days after disappearing?

NewBootsAndRanty · 04/02/2023 20:24

Presumably her phone is with the police..

I don't know
This is what I can't understand because surely the police took her phone away?
I've no idea how these devices work
