www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-64450243

Just been reading about this. How awful for her partner and children. Really hope she is found soon

Had she secured a mortgage on a home nearby? I haven’t seen that reported. That’s interesting if so, though I guess maybe she was planning to let it rather than live in it.

I understood it as she had secured a mortgage for a client?

prh47bridge · 03/02/2023 09:55

@Peverellshire -I cannot see any reports saying she secured a mortgage on her home. She is a mortgage adviser. She had arranged a mortgage for someone else.

Some of the other recent posts on this thread seem to be based on social media speculation rather than anything solid. The alleged connection to John Robertson, for example, is somewhat tenuous - someone who is following her on Strava is also allegedly following John Robertson. It isn't even true. As for Simon S, according to Strava he lives in Camberley. It is true that he is following three people called Nicola Bulley. However, there seem to be a number of people who have signed up to Strava following her disappearance who are only following her or people with the same name. I can't be sure, but it looks to me like Simon S is one of them.

Peverellshire · 03/02/2023 09:59

@prh47bridge I read as her own mortgage, will find source. The screenshots a PP posted, look to say NB was troubled by this ‘follower’ & are dated 7 Dec, IF genuine.

Coincidentally, this was when NB stopped posting on FB.

Peverellshire · 03/02/2023 10:00

(Screenshot’s apparently of NB’s FB messenger from her account.

Nimblesandbimbles · 03/02/2023 10:01

Ah thank you. Yes I thought it related to her job as a mortgage advisor rather than a property she was buying but that post confused me.
I think you’re right that there’s a lot of speculation & some info gets lost/ misinterpreted along the way.

Whatafielddayfortheheat · 03/02/2023 09:49

@Peverellshire I can't see the message from Nicola almost offscreen that you mention?

What does the message say? @Peverellshire

Peverellshire · 03/02/2023 10:05

PP posted upthread with a few message screenshots.

SantaOnFanta · 03/02/2023 10:05

Only the dog may know what really happened.

That house nearby is very spooky.

And the Strava thing is very suspicious.

I wonder if she was recording the walk on Strava and if there's anyway to get that information?

The whole thing is a mystery, I hope they find answers.

Yes, I've seen that, but the individual concerned is not listed as one of her followers on Facebook and I would question how someone unconnected managed to get access to her Facebook Messenger. Most likely explanation is that they didn't, and the screenshot is fake.

I think because it is so strange and completely inexplicable - she disappeared off the face of the earth in a 30 minute window in what seems like a fairly well frequented area. I agree with previous posters though, there must be something major that the police haven't mentioned publicly as to explain why they swung into action so quickly and started searching for her immediately, rather than waiting a few hours to see if she would turn up.

Yeah, I totally agree with you there. It’s so unusual, isn’t it.

No, it isn’t.

WombsofWimbledon · 02/02/2023 22:47

Are you suggesting that her case should be looked into less? Or other cases should be investigated more? If it’s the second then it would be great if you listed some? More awareness of other unsolved cases sounds like a great thing to champion and something I think people here would care about.

I think perhaps it’s the nationwide publicity that it is receiving but others have summed it up better - it must be how unusual it is. It has gathered the nation’s interest.

newfence · 03/02/2023 10:36

Cileymyrus · 03/02/2023 10:34

No, it isn’t.

Maybe not. Maybe it’s just caught my interest more than any other case due to its media converage.

newfence · 03/02/2023 10:37

Dunnoburt · 02/02/2023 21:51

It's not.....why would you feel the need to say that? I hope they find her, for the sake of the children

I didn’t mean it to come across that way. Apologies.

newfence · 03/02/2023 10:39

Renoir56 · 02/02/2023 21:46

Is that really necessary? It isn't more important but it's made the headlines and two little girls are waiting for their mum to come home.

having reread that, I can see that it came across badly, it wasn’t how I meant to say it. Apologies.

I meant it’s not “so unusual” for the police to swing into action quickly vs. Waiting a few hours.

people don’t abandon their dogs and phones on a bench near a river, divert from their daily routine, and bugger off to the pub for a few hours. At the very least it’s an indication that her thought processes weren’t usual.

it’s an out of character disappearance so immediate red flags.

LentilsAndCream · 03/02/2023 10:42

The poor husband, he looks absolutely confused and distraught. I hope he and they will have a positive outcome and eventual closure, this must be living hell. The whole community will be traumatised.

SilhouetteOfAHead · 03/02/2023 11:00

Renoir56 · 03/02/2023 07:34

I still think there is a piece of the jigsaw the police aren't sharing. Early on they said they didn't believe there had been any criminal activity and they must have based that on something they knew or have been told.

From what I know there is some information which has not been released (and I do know, it's not speculation. My DP knows members of the local police and was told this).

People are becoming very uneasy round here. I live a few miles away near the coast, and a couple of my friends yesterday said they won't walk their dogs alone until this has been cleared up.

Same. I'm only 15 minutes away and have been looking at getting a tracking device.
It's really scary

BesidetheseasideXxx · 03/02/2023 11:05

I remember when I was a little girl in middle school, a friends mum went missing. She was having a breakdown, dropped my friend off at school and went to the airport. It was awful.
Can't stop thinking about those two little girls. I don't want to speculate but I hope it won't be too long before the family have some awnsers.

Saw on another forum about an open prison nearby - is that a risk? Also an unresolved sexual assault in NOV

Prisoners are always escaping from that place. At least one a month I'd say.
It's only 8 miles away from St Michael's.

It’s not a messenger conversation, someone has gone to Nicolas profile and been able to comment on a post of hers from 7th December.

The screenshots show the comments left on her profile.

TheUsualChaos · 03/02/2023 11:32

Yes this is making me think about safety when I'm out alone with DDog, we go to some fairly out of the way paths...no one would hear me or know exactly where I went. A tracker device is a good idea perhaps... But also this incident, whatever it turns out to be, has happened in broad daylight at a busy time of day, where there were clearly other people around and you would think one would be perfectly safe. Maybe that's partly what is so unnerving about it all.
