A truly beautiful lady inside and out. I've been a fan ever since my teenage years in the 70s. Wonderful singing talent. Even before Grease she had number 1's, several music awards, and was well established in her own right as a pop icon. Grease was the icing on the cake for her! In one of his interviews, John Travolta (relatively unknown at the time) said he was in awe of ONJ when he visited her mansion to persuade her to do Grease, seeing all her gold records on the wall and awards in the house!
She was said to be the same friendly, lively, "girl next door" type of person in real life as well as on TV. Nothing artificial about her. She was also inspirational, especially with her work for conservation, animals, and of course cancer support. Despite life throwing her lemons along the way (failed business, relationship breakdowns, miscarriages, failed films and a mystery disappearance of a partner), she always made the best of it, always positive, always looking forward, and never dwelling on things that went wrong.
The World is a poorer place this morning!
