Easyjet flight refunds

Anyone else having difficulty obtaining a refund for their Easyjet flights? It is widely reported that you can obtain a refund by going to Manage Booking. However there is no option to obtain a refund, only to change your flight to a different one (and who the heck knows how to plan that one?!). The flight I have is to Spain on 31 March and clearly this will be cancelled. Is anyone else having a problem finding the elusive option to get a refund (are Easyjet actually not providing refunds because of Cashflow problems?). TIA for any information you may have.

Lucky sods! I just got an email saying bear with us you are in a queue and give us 28 days!

Vargas · 01/05/2020 14:03

My refund arrived 25/4. Hope everyone who is waiting gets their refund soon.

Update: Dear All, I just wanted to let you know that I got my refund from Easyjet! It was paid directly by Easyjet into my bank account on Thursday 11 June. So it took about 10 weeks. I received a voucher for the outward part of the journey. A very obscure email that I didn’t even realise was the voucher until I looked hard and there was a Voucher Code inserted. I would have preferred a refund for the outbound flight, but at the time there was nothing but a voucher on offer. Now I’m wondering when on earth I will feel like using it! How is everyone else getting on with their refunds?

I got mine yesterday. Was about 10 weeks wait

IsabelleSE19 · 13/06/2020 08:38

I'm waiting for a voucher, which I thought would be quicker than a refund. Been waiting 43 days so far, and in the meantime they've released next year's flights for the time we want to go, the price of which will be rising while we wait for a voucher which probably will no longer cover the cost! Angry

TaylorConrad · 13/06/2020 12:29

@IsabelleSE19 it might be worth searching for an email from [email protected]
Please see the photo of mine.
I missed it when it came in (amongst all the other Easyjet emails flying around).
It contained my voucher code. But so innocuous I nearly missed it. Smile

Thanks Taylor - I've checked and there's nothing. I'm so cross - they'll be releasing the next lot of flights in a few weeks and it looks like I still won't be able to get them Angry

blueglassandfreesias · 22/06/2020 21:19

I am still waiting for mine, I requested it on May 5th. Glad to hear some are coming through, it gives me hope!

TaylorConrad · 23/06/2020 07:26

@blueglassandfreesias. Hang on in there, my refund took a good 8-10 weeks. :o)

My flights for 8 April were cancelled. Finally received email yesterday from EJ saying money would be back in my account with 5 days.

At last!

TaylorConrad · 23/06/2020 08:20

@DorsetCamping. Yay! Thrilled for you. :o). It seems they are coming through finally. I hope those of us with vouchers also find that the codes work when we come to book a flight... Anyone used a voucher from Easyjet yet?

Is anyone still waiting on refund/voucher from March? I’ve chased it up once already and still heard nothing

TaylorConrad · 04/07/2020 14:36

When was your flight Levatrice? They have been taking 8-10 weeks to refund. :-)

Levatrice · 04/07/2020 15:54

28th March. Will definitely have to chase up again I think that’s 14 weeks ago! Il prepare myself for a mega hold on the phone lines! Thanks op

ivykaty44 · 04/07/2020 16:09

I’m still waiting. Can’t get through

ivykaty44 · 04/07/2020 16:35

Just been on hold each time I’ve tried ringing, constantly told they are busy

TaylorConrad · 04/07/2020 16:40

@Levatrice that does seem longer than usual. Keep on them.
@ivykaty44 You have more patience than I did.
When my refund came there was no fanfare, email, or thanks for waiting. Keep an eye on your bank a/c or check your credit card statement that you paid with.

Card has expired

ivykaty44 · 04/07/2020 16:44

I’ve just emailed CEO
It’s should be all online and no need to phone

Levatrice · 04/07/2020 21:58

I agree, I hate chasing things by phone Sad should be a simple online process.

ivykaty44 · 05/07/2020 07:42

Ok, so I’d not phoned before yesterday as I knew lines would be busy, and £45 is hardly a priority when people need to sort entire holidays

Emailed CEO same time I posted here:
I just want a refund for a flight, £45
Unable to do this request online
Flight was for Wednesday 25/03/2020 Luton - Faro
Flight cancelled- fair enough
Reference EXGBN78
Flight was 2015 Luton to Faro

It’s now July 2020
My card I paid with has now expired

Your phone line constantly state you’re really busy

So set up to do refunds online

Had a reply at 7:30am to state refund completed - result

TaylorConrad · 05/07/2020 08:23

@ivyKaty44 Wowzer!! You’re on fire! And you got your money back. Yes, I reckon expired card was at the root of it. Have them the excuse that they tried! Perhaps you could post the CEO’s email address here and let @Levatrice have a go? ‘Yeah, what she said...’ style. 😁😁😁

Literally just googled easyJet CRO email and did that short to the point email

TaylorConrad · 05/07/2020 09:24

@Levatrice here is a link to the site ceoemail.com where you will find the email address for Johan Lundgren CEO of Easyjet.

www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-9678

and in case that doesn’t work it is...

[email protected]

The site which lists his details contains good advice on how to email a CEO. Basically do as @Ivykaty44 has - short, sweet, to the point, neutral in tone.

Good luck!! Please let us know how you get on! :o)

I also gave my home address under my signature - for credit card refunds postcode is needed

But I obviously didn’t put my address on here
