I tell you what people who don't like it & don't want to talk about why not leave the thread & in fact why even bother to come & read the thread in the first place i just don't understand.

It's a discussion forum why not let people discuss what they want?

dinahmoemum · 07/09/2007 16:22

just popped back to say to a big YES to Intergalactic Walrus. And I don't think I'm the only one around here who does......

IntergalacticWalrus · 07/09/2007 16:24

As many others have said 'most of killed children have been kiled by a family member' It is sad but true.
Maybe the Mc cann s have smth to do with it maybe not. What i dont get is why people defend them so passionately. Why you are going on about 'two intelligent people would 't have done that..'
Well, first of all being a doctor doesn't mean you are intelligent (sometimes it means that daddy had money to sent you to uni). And people with degrees and Phd DO commit crimes too. What is it whith all this denial to accept it?
If a cab driver or a cleaner drugged his child we would have pointed the finger. When children under 5 are left alone and drugged we all want the social services to get involved.
In the Mc Cann's case we are not even allowed to express our concerns.
What makes the Mc Cann's situation so special?

dinahmoemum · 07/09/2007 16:38

well i'm guessing that suzycreamcheese is a fan and i do believe that I have come across a poster called greatgooglymoogly. i am making assumptions based purely on nicknames here. for instance i have assumed that you are a scientologist.

lornaloo · 07/09/2007 16:38

I think the fact that they have put so much effort in to try and find Madeleine makes it hard to beleive that it could all be a lie. Just seems far fetched but possible. Time will tell.

mandalena · 07/09/2007 16:40

Oh, and if you dont like the thread, please go somewhere else. No need to be so rude and controlling. It is a democratic country.

Neverenoughhandbags · 07/09/2007 16:40

Madeleine is still officially missing, not dead.
Innocent until proven guilty
And I think you do have to be reasonably intelligent to get through medical school and junior doctor training!

dinahmoemum · 07/09/2007 16:42

apologies mandalena et al. I'm off to start a Frank Zappa tribute thread - anybody up for it?

LizaRose · 07/09/2007 16:42

Um, being a doctor does mean you are intelligent, medical degrees are not bought with money!

RTKangaMummy · 07/09/2007 16:43

DR SHIPMAN ...?

figroll · 07/09/2007 16:43

Doesn't make you infallible though - you can still have accidents/make mistakes.

Neverenoughhandbags · 07/09/2007 16:43

However it is fair to say that being intelligent doesn't make you incapable of all sorts of nefarious acts.
Bottom line is, we don't know how the investigation is proceeding.

Neverenoughhandbags · 07/09/2007 16:46

...and being a Doctor does not mean you won't commit a crime. But nor does it mean you WILL!
Shipman was a mass murderer who chose medicine as the means to his end.

krazykoolkazza · 07/09/2007 16:47

I wouldn't like to speculate on this case, and far less would I like to categorically state that the McCanns couldn't possibly have anything to do with their daughter's disappearance. Only they know the truth about that.

However, I do think the McCanns have acted somewhat oddly throughout this invesigation - particularly the mother.

I can't quite see it as natural for a mother in her position to make one of her immediate priorities in the days immediately following the disappearance of her daughter a visit to the Pope - without her remaining children.

The police have never questioned anyone (including Robert Murat) for as long as they interviewed Mrs McCann. According to Mrs Mccann her story goes something like this; we were dining at a nearby tapas bar and were returning to our apartment every 30 minutes or so to check on our children, once we went back and one of them had disappeared. How long does it take to relay that to police?

All I would conclude at this stage is that there is quite clearly an awful lot more to this story than is being divulged by the police.

I hope it is resolved soon.

I don't think I was rude. You are indeed entitled to your views and comments. Just as I am perfectly entitled (on the same thread) to comment that I think some people are obsessed by this case.

And of course I am going to think that my opinion is correct, that's why I have it. Doesn't mean it is so.

CountessDracula · 07/09/2007 16:52

I'm with Cod
I'm more interested in the dingo woman due to dh being locked up with her anyway

WideWebWitch · 07/09/2007 16:52

God these threads always bring out the weirdos and loons

lornaloo · 07/09/2007 16:53

Omg you didnt just say that! Wierdos and Loons. Thanks!!!

cushioncover · 07/09/2007 16:54

KKK, I don't think you can make sweeping statements like that.
I know a woman who, on being told that her daughter had died, wanted nothing more than to be with her priest (not her husband and other children) I know with absolute certainty that she was devastated by her loss.

NOiamsportacus · 07/09/2007 16:59

i don't think anybody who has posted on here is particularly weird or a loony. You must live a sheltered life WWW.

HorseyWoman · 07/09/2007 16:59

I agree with WWW. What's more sad than the fact we have been here discussing a prominant news item is the fact that you have been here most of that time moaning and talking about bleach.

TemporarilyJV · 07/09/2007 17:00

Didn't you call someone a twat lornaloo?
Bit late to come over all prudish and easily offended no?
