I was watching the news last night re Kate McCanns requestioning by the Portuguese Police. I have updated on the events this morning and it appears she will be declared as a SUSPECT today. Im shocked about this, what do you all think? Surely she didnt have anything to do with it?

OP posts:
RTKangaMummy · 07/09/2007 16:00

iirc she was a witness last night and was in again today but was then changed to a formal suspect

fartmeistergeneral · 07/09/2007 16:01

So I take it she now has no contact with her husband?

lornaloo · 07/09/2007 16:01

Is she definitly a suspect? Really? wtf...

HorseyWoman · 07/09/2007 16:01

Exactly tugamommy, so madeleine's DNA canNOT be mistaken for Kate's!

RTKangaMummy · 07/09/2007 16:02

he went in about 20 mins before she just left

So no idea whether she was allowed to see him inside the police station

so she was in there for 5 hours then he arrives then 20 mins later she leaves he is still there

HorseyWoman · 07/09/2007 16:03

Sorry, I haven't got time to read posts from the half an hour I wasn't here. But madeleine will have half her DNA from one parent and half from another, meaning 23 chromosones from each parents, arranged in pairs. That means that her DNA will be unique whichever way you look at it.

dinahmoemum · 07/09/2007 16:05

what a tedious thread. do none of you have jobs or other activities to be getting on with. the random discussion on cleaning products was particularly dull.

noddyholder · 07/09/2007 16:06

I think as this is one of the biggest news stories of the year and concerns mothers and children it is perfectly valid for discussion adn debate. And referring to those who want to discuss it as sad middle aged women is rude and unnecessary as is using the thread to talk about your environment wrecking cleaning habit which if that isn't the sign of being sad and middle aged I don't know what is!

katz · 07/09/2007 16:07

one thing is really bugging me with the press coverage surely she's Dr McCann not Mrs!

TemporarilyJV · 07/09/2007 16:07

So tedious you just had to read on and confirm its tedious status?

dinahmoemum · 07/09/2007 16:10

oooooh yes. one point to you clever clogs!

HorseyWoman · 07/09/2007 16:10

Actually no I don't have a job as I left it a few weeks ago so that I can do my PGCE. So yes, I'm bored and yes, I get easily drawn into threads. But I hardly think current affairs and important news items make dull conversation. Yes, at times, it's like a game of Cluedo, but we are all free to discuss whatever we choose to here; and those that want to discuss cleaning habits should go and join Good Housekeeping.

Yes it is and until everyone started paying attention to it I just ignored and carried on discussing at will, but now it's become the whole reason for this thread.

lornaloo · 07/09/2007 16:13

Anyway swiftly moving on...back to what we were talking about before we were interupted.

Where have you read that Kate is a suspect and now been released? Or is it on the news?

cushioncover · 07/09/2007 16:14

I wouldn't say it's tedious and I agree it's a big news story but I do worry about some poster's appetite for 'Madeleine' threads.

I think that some M'netters should take a look at themselves and if they realise they are getting excited each time there's a new MM thread in this section then it's time to step away.

dinahmoemum · 07/09/2007 16:16

i like the cut of your jib young lornaloo.

NotAnOtter · 07/09/2007 16:16

lornaloo · 07/09/2007 16:16

Its natural to want to know whats happend to that girl. We have children fgs. Its a horrible nightmare that we all fear and I for one really want to know what happend. I certainly do not get excited when I see a MM thread. Jesus!

lornaloo · 07/09/2007 16:17

IntergalacticWalrus · 07/09/2007 16:18

flightattendant · 07/09/2007 16:19

I get excited. I want the truth to come out. I think that's natural...

dinahmoemum · 07/09/2007 16:21

your jib my dear. no idea what that means but I like the sound of it. i was referring of course to your comments about the fish lady. but i fear that now i will be guilty of detracting from the main purpose of this thread and do not wish for that so will exit from this forum in a lady like manner. adieu.

lornaloo · 07/09/2007 16:21
