I was watching the news last night re Kate McCanns requestioning by the Portuguese Police. I have updated on the events this morning and it appears she will be declared as a SUSPECT today. Im shocked about this, what do you all think? Surely she didnt have anything to do with it?

if it's really grim, you need to scrape it out and redo it. Sorry.

Chemical Cod.

Ditch all that crap, cod.

You don't need it to clean.

there was a worry a while backa nd suggestions that they make make out that Kate did it, apperntly there was another case similar and the mother although no proper evidence, was found guilty!

ShrinkingViolet · 07/09/2007 12:31

there's a tool you can get to take out the grout - mind you it's a horrible messy job. Might toothpaste work? I'm sure I read soemwhere that toothpaste works on some kind of stains. Maybe the whitening stuff ?

bobbysmum07 · 07/09/2007 12:34

So evidently the police have found traces of the child's blood both in the apartment and in a car the McCann's hired some days after her disappearance.

The mother is expected to be charged later.

Of course, everyone here will say she is being framed.

ELF1981 · 07/09/2007 12:35

Pink Chick - not worth commenting on this page unless it is about cleaning products

I dont know they are guilty, and if them being declared "suspects" gets those difficult questions asked, or Madeline found, that's great. I dont know if the family had any involvement in this, and I certainly hope that they didn't, if they did I'll feel doubly sorry for any other parent who's child goes missing, as there will be no public support

McEdam · 07/09/2007 12:37

Clearly this story shows you can separate people into two groups. One whose first response to a missing child is sympathy for the parents, or who believe in justice and the principle of innocent until proved guilty. And one full of people that get their kicks speculating on very little information and making huge, unwarranted allegations based on gossip.

I know which group I want to belong to.

ELF1981 · 07/09/2007 12:38

Forgive my innocence but is blood special to a person? I thought blood was by types, so unless somebody had a particularly rare type, it wouldn't be easy to prove it was theirs? As in, blood in the car could be anybodies?

totaleclipse · 07/09/2007 12:38

bobbysmum, are you saying you think she is guilty?

expatinscotland · 07/09/2007 12:38

Lakeland has a nice range of cleaning supplies without all the nasties.

I'd suggest browsing there.

Need to go over myself and pick up a gorgeous shortbread mould I forgot to buy last time.

Perfect for my Xmas shortbread to give to neighbours, nursery teachers, etc.

marthamoo · 07/09/2007 12:39

I agree with Issy and that's all I have to say, really.

Though I must mention that my bathroom is spotless as we had a new floor put down this morning and I was up at 7am scrubbing the whole bathroom like a woman demented - so that the men who did the floor wouldn't be calling me a slattern behind my back.

PinkChick · 07/09/2007 12:39

yeah ELF i can see that, its always the case.

seems though that they DO thinks she's dead though?
thats the problem, no one is confirming anything and this guy could have his life ruined as well as mum mccann!

expatinscotland · 07/09/2007 12:41

In fact, it's such a lovely day, I think I'll stroll over there in a few minutes.

Or perhaps down High Street into the Canongate to pick up a present for my mum.

Yeah, that sounds a treat. Perhaps a spot of lunch on the way, seeing as that the mosque kitchen is closed on Fridays at 1 for prayers.

DrNortherner · 07/09/2007 12:44

ELF - they will have done more than simply testing the blood type they have carried out DNA tests on the blood and the results are indeed unique to 1 person.

Reading the updates on SKY news it sounds like she will be charged.

If she did it, it's horrendous.

If she didn't, and they pin this on her it;s horrendous.

Either way it's very

Elffriend · 07/09/2007 12:46

Okay newbie here to the lurid McCann cup of tea/fag-hanging out of side of mouth/gossip over garden-fence type threads but have a very important question...who the hell IS Barry Scott and why does he shout so loudly? Sets my teeth right on edge so it does

nailpolish · 07/09/2007 12:48

oh expat dh goes to the mosque for lunch
he loves it

Nbg · 07/09/2007 12:49

What a horrendous outcome

JudgeJudyAndExecutioner · 07/09/2007 12:50

Lunch in a mosque doesn't sound horrendous to me!

ELF1981 · 07/09/2007 12:51

DrNortherner, obviously I am not paying enough attention to CSI!!

Just seen this

"Mrs McCann's lawyer, Carlos Pinto de Abreu, has advised her there is "a possibility" she may be charged in connection with her daughter's death, the friend added." - I really hope not.

I was still holding out for a happy ending
