Did anyone hear on the radio that the police are close to an arrest in the Madeleine case?

bear in mind they haven't interviewed gerry mc cann yet. i suspect they'll be using kate to get to gerry in some way - hauling your wife off to be questioned will have some effect if you have even the merest trace of guilt.

One reason the interview took 11 hours was that it was all being conducted through an interpreter, and then handwritten, not taped.

that report says that they want to ask her questions that would require her to have arguido status - how is the line of questioning different?

Forsale, I think that status allows certain other 'difficult' questions to be asked, can't imagine what kind of thing though...also she has the right to silence.
I wonder if she will make use of that right.

I feel for these parents so much. I have a 4 year old daughter too and have been much more panicky about my children being out of my sight since MM went missing. However, I am also bloody angry with them for leaving her as there was enough adults to take it in turns to eat in the room. Nothing has rung quite true since the beginning but I just wish they could find her.

I don't think Kate or Gerry had anything to do with this. You just need to look at them to see that. They have pain wretched on there faces, you can almost hear the lump at the back of there throats as they talk.

I always thought that it is a possiblilty that perhaps a friend of the Mccanns might know more than they let on. It does now all seem very unlikely that Madeleine has been abducted and taken to another country. I'm sure its all very close to the ocean club, someone that knew Madeleine. I don't know. Its just so tragic it really is.

In some ways you kind of hope Whatever happend was just an accedent. At least then you know she hasnt been suffering emotionally being apart from her family.

apparently it is the forensic results from the Mccann hire care that have made the PJ declare Kate (and soon Gerry) suspects - they (allegedly) found traces of Madeleine's blood in it. that was just on Radio 2 news.

I just CANNOT believe they did it. but how on earth could her blood be in that car??

I agree. Its a load of rubbish. Im sorry but what does this imply? That they kept her body for 5 weeks? Or clothing with blood? I doubt it. Its either complete an utter rubbish or its one of there friends.
