Not all PG women get fat, a close friend of mine sincerely used it as an excuse to pig out and eat really unhealthily, she used to say PG women were meant to be fat, which was not good for her or the Baby but no one really picked up on it.
Just because someone is slim and PG it dosen't equate to being ill or vain....just wanted to make that point

LaB, absolutely right. There are all sorts of different metabolisms. It would be just as wrong to comment nastily on a "slim" pregnant lady as a "fat" one.

Heartily agree, all women should be pristinely dressed and retain size 8 figure at all times. Pregnancy is no excuse. Anything less should be punishable by law. Because it's what's outside that counts.

I was fat before I got pregnant, so the fact that I looked like something that Greenpeace harpooned during both pgs made absolutely no difference to DP

is it to late to say, that medically, an average weight gain of 25 pounds is absolutely the norm when pregnant...that is the least you should expect to gain really.........

you are supposed to lay down extra fat stores for breastfeeding...plus your extra blood and fluid weighs a bit too

Charlotte rocks. She is a celebrity who is actually good at something, has kept friends who aren't famous, and seems to do as she pleases with regard to her weight and image. A good role model in many respects.

pre DD1 I was about 10 stone and a size 12 got up to 12 stone before she was born but it was all over, she was 6lbs 6ozs and the say after I came out of hospital I had to go buy size 12 trousers as maternity ones were too baggy and nothing else fitted. I lost the weight and another stone to boot never tried never dieted just ate what I wanted. So was 9 stone when I got pregnant with DD2 and went up to 12 stone again but the weight gain was completely different this time it was all baby I was a bump on legs she was 9lbs 3ozs and I was in size 10 jeans the next day. Am now 8 1/2 stone and pregnant again. So it can vary from woman to woman, with 3 under 4 to look after I will be a size 6 after this ones born.
