It appears the children and teacher have been found alive.
Has a miracle happened ?
I am so delighted and hope they will be ok after their horrific ordeal.
It's always nice to see good news as lately all the headlines are of something bad having happened.
Please forgive me if there is already a thread on this topic.

So shall we leave Musk out of it ?
Good idea, only positive vibes allowed.

Come on boys, you're nearly there FootballStar

I did think that about Elon Musk until I saw the submarine video, it did look like it could be useful if say one of the people trapped was unsafe to dive for whatever reason. I hadn't appreciated how tiny it is, little biggest than a person.

Best to continue diving them out as that has got everyone out safely and sub has had little testing, but surely helpful to have another option if one person was unable to go via diving?

Hopefully he will continue to test it so would be a tested option in a similar situation in future.

When he initially suggested the sub they were still looking for routes to dig down from the surface, so they hadn't officially decided that diving them out was the solution yet.

My candle is burning- I lit it again at 5am this morning, I have had it lit for the past three days.

I hope all this will reach a happy conclusion soon.

From sky news:

Another boy has been rescued from the cave and taken to hospital - bringing the total to nine, says an official involved with the rescue mission.

Three more to go, plus the coach.

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 10:16

9th boy out.

speakout · 10/07/2018 10:17

Chefs at the cave support camp are preparing huge quantities of food for the rescue workers, in the hope this will be the last day of efforts.

speakout · 10/07/2018 10:18

Oh that's fantastic news.

I have tears in my eyes.

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 10:19

Agreed re positivity only. I wonder how they are ensuring enough air for the doctor and Navy Seals. Maybe they've just put more bottle along the route. It will be amazing if they all come out today.

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 10:38

10th out.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 10/07/2018 10:44

Nah, I can't quite muster up positivity for Musk, FIFA or any of the armchair rescue squad.

Despite which, this is an amazing rescue showing the very best of humanity, community and international co-operation.

I hope something like this never has to happen again, but, that knowing it can brings some good to the world.

DaffoDeffo · 10/07/2018 10:51

So relieved to hear they have got some more people out. Fingers crossed for everyone still to come.

If nothing else I hope it helps develop technology that will help in other cave rescues. I still find it extraordinary that we have machines that will find oil or minerals kms under the ground but not humans fgs. It would help in earthquakes and all sorts of other situations!

EmilyDickinson · 10/07/2018 11:02

That's just amazing. The rescue team have done so well. I really hope that everyone gets out today.

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 11:15

11th out.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 10/07/2018 11:18

11th out now Smile

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 11:21

BBC News is reporting that the coach is the weakest because of his giving up food and fluids to the others. I really hope he's going to be okay.

peridito · 10/07/2018 11:24

I really hope that he's already out .

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 11:26

I was thinking it would be harder to get him out perhaps because of his size. I wonder if he can swim, or if is having to be attached to a diver.

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 11:33

Reports that the smallest is out (11 year old).

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 10/07/2018 11:38

That 11 year old must be so strong if they left him till last, despite being a tiny little thing.

Come on, 2 more to go Football

speakout · 10/07/2018 11:39

Hang in there- final push.

peridito · 10/07/2018 11:42

No complancy ,all stay calm and focussed .

Pupsiecola · 10/07/2018 11:43

I read that they will have assessed them all individually, so for example out of two weaker ones, one may have responded to fluids and nutrition and training, getting stronger, whilst the second may not have got stronger, so it the order would have been chosen daily by the medic in the cave.

peridito · 10/07/2018 11:45

Maybe the coach is weak but not ill ? Maybe his mind set is such that it would distress and disable him not to be last ?

EachandEveryone · 10/07/2018 11:47

Brilliant😄
