The old thread takes too long to load.

Lets hope this is the one that contains the good news that she has been found alive and well.

There must be loads of different Dna's in the room. It's a holiday apartment.

MrsSpoon · 01/06/2007 19:30

TBH Jalopy that's what I thought too when I heard this on the radio, however the news article seems to suggest that this is the first DNA they have found that doesn't belong to the family, however it doesn't belong to Robert Murat.

Still sounds like a needle in a haystack to me.

Minniethemoocher · 01/06/2007 22:37

No mention of the McCann's visit to Spain on BBC 10 O'clock news, or any updates on the DNA story...

Looks like poor Madeleine is slipping from the news...so sad

Wolfgirl · 04/06/2007 14:50

Telegraph - 2nd June

Wolfgirl · 04/06/2007 15:32

Whoops - 4th june. x

furReal · 04/06/2007 15:53

I don't think Madeleine was abducted by a stranger. I don't think the McCans were involved, but I do think that the person who took Madeleine was someone who is known to them.

Talk of a ransum etc just seems to point to that. Generally people who are kidnapped for money are kidnapped by someone who knows, or knows of, their victim. A kidnapper has to be sure that the loved ones of the victim are either in a position to be able to pay, or to have the right contacts to be able to obtain the money for a ransum. There would be no point in kidnapping the daughter of a single mum who works on the checkout at Tesco, because she wouldn't be in a position to pay.

Also the reaction of Kate McCann when she discovered that MAdeleine was missing, she said 'they've taken Madeleine' or something, or so it was reported, what a strange thing to say. It's true we don't know how we'd react in that situation but they've taken? just seems very strange to me, as if she was fearful of something like this happening, as if there was a 'they' that she feared.

Minniethemoocher · 04/06/2007 15:54

Wolfgirl - thanks for that, I pray that at last the police have a lead that will lead to her safe return.

Minniethemoocher · 04/06/2007 15:56

Furreal - I think that it a natural thing for any mother to say, there is that deep, dark primeval fear of "them", of strangers, hurting our children.

furReal · 04/06/2007 16:00

Madeleine's gone, Madeleine's been taken, but they've taken Madeleine seems totally strange. After all didn't the McCanns originally think Madeleine could have wandered off which was a far more likely possibility anyway.

EvanMom · 04/06/2007 18:16

Not news, and I haven't read all the thread, but I wanted you thoughts on Robert Murat - I have no idea whether he is innocent, or guilty. In my eyes, he is innocent until proven otherwise. Why doesn't he offer to take a lie detector/polygraph test to help prove his innocence and get people off his back?

wannaBe · 04/06/2007 18:26

because polygraphs aren't that accurate - they're not admissible in court as evidence...

because he is innocent until proven guilty.

because it is the police's job to find the evidence to charge him with a crime, and then the jury's job to find him guilty of that crime, beyond all reasonable doubt.

EvanMom · 04/06/2007 18:44

I completely agree with all that - but I can't help thinking he has had a very rough ride from the media over which he has had no control. The coverage of this case has been unprecedented and, wrongly, there must have been an element of trial by media. If I was innocent, I would want to do anything to help clear my name.

MNHQ · 04/06/2007 18:45

This thread will be closing tonight at 7pm.

Thank you, MNHQ

EvanMom · 04/06/2007 18:46

Why?

Wolfgirl · 04/06/2007 18:57

Can we start another news thread?

MNHQ · 04/06/2007 18:58

No.

EvanMom · 04/06/2007 19:00

Gina

Wolfgirl · 04/06/2007 19:01

...are all the Madeleine threads being pulled?

toomuchtodo · 04/06/2007 19:04

furReal, reading your post made me think a bit

what you say is very plausible

EvanMom · 04/06/2007 19:04

You are still here

carriemumsnet · 04/06/2007 20:03

Just to clarify - for those of you who were confused - the poster posting as MNHQ was not, in fact, anyone from MNHQ...

Clear as mud I know..

And no, all the Madeleine threads are not being pulled.

And yes folks can start a new news one if they want to, though please, if you do, could you make sure someone flags Justine's comments about the MN philosophy somewhere near the OP.

Thanks from MNHQ (and this time it's the real ones)

Enid · 04/06/2007 20:11

EvanMom · 04/06/2007 20:33
