The old thread takes too long to load.

Lets hope this is the one that contains the good news that she has been found alive and well.

OP posts:

Anyone and everyone would be compassionate and kind to the McCann family. The posters on here don't need it. Because, get this, it isn't happening to them.

NKF · 17/05/2007 13:48

They're not detecting at the moment. The tone at the moment is plaintive.

donnie · 17/05/2007 13:49

the vultures are still circling I see....

Flumpybumpy · 17/05/2007 13:49

There has been some new pictures of Madeleine released by Sky News to try and keep the story in the news for as long as possible. If anyone is downloading the pictures for posters, emails etc (as per the HELP FIND AMDELEINE THREAD) then here is a link to them NEW PICTURES OF MEDELEINE

If this has already been done on this thread then I apologise, I am not going to scroll down through all the arguing to find out!

I think that this thread was started with the best of intentions, but has sadly gone down hill

Am aghast at some of the cruelty on here.

ScoobyDooooo · 17/05/2007 13:50

NKF so that is the most disgusting thing you've read on here? Absolutely pathetic. I suggest you scroll down a little. Anyway I've said how I feel, now I will leave you to your piss-taking (only of other speculating posters of course that's fine).

NKF · 17/05/2007 13:51

Every day at the gym I cry silently....

Doesn't that just about sum the whole sorry business up?

quietmouse · 17/05/2007 13:52

I admire the McCann family so much. I think they have been amazing, the way they have kept Madeleine's profile so high.

Hoping they get their happy ending soon.

ruty · 17/05/2007 13:52

malory has taken the pss out of the ghoulish and mawkish raking over events and totally ridiculous and unnecessary voyeurism and speculation that is unceasing on these threads. she has not taken the pss out of Madeleine's family.

WhoBuiltTheArkNoahNoah · 17/05/2007 13:53

a little tear.

donnie · 17/05/2007 13:55

What does this bickering achieve? If you are someone who has been 'on the news thread' MN appears unkind, callous, bitchy. If (like me) you're on the 'leave the thread alone' side, then MN seems ghoulish, trivial, insensitive and inappropriate.

The point of the thread was to keep everyone who wanted to be updated on breaking news. There is no news. When there is we will all know about it.

I do think the 'detective' work and 'dreams' have led people into a fantasy world, where raking over the details might lead somewhere. Somewhere along the line, Madeleine McCann has been forgotten. In the same way as the media have focussed their attention onto Murat and the Russian. It smacks of tabloid hysteria. I remember when Britain sent bombers into the Balkans and the Sun Headline was 'Clobber Slobba'.

I'm leaving this thread now - it's not serving any purpose, and I agree with MP that perhaps the constant analysis of details might be better done by email or MSN etc.

thedogsbollox · 17/05/2007 14:00

Toroiseshell I agree with you, save that I think the bitching might also be better saved for MSN!

Perhaps the amateur detectives have no access to MSN either.

In which case this whole distateful performance can continue to play out infinitum!

DonnyLass · 17/05/2007 14:07

God.

However we express our very real concerns ... howver much we disagree ...

Let's just ALL keep looking ...

toomuchtodo · 17/05/2007 14:10

Donny I wish I could look but I'm 1000's of mile away in a small corner of scotland

The police will be doing their job, we must all leave them to it.

GColdtimer · 17/05/2007 14:11

Just in case anyone has forgotten it is there:

thoughts and prayers thread.

DonnyLass · 17/05/2007 14:15

tmtd

i take your point

and I am sure you understand that 'looking' is somewhat metaphorical ... e-mailing pictures, contacting people in other countries etc

yes, I am sure that the police are doing everything they can within the limits of their resources and experiences

not being histrionic, not being inflammatory, just iterating what the family have asked everyone to do

keep looking

being madeleine home
