Thanks for the new thread.

I hope Alfie had a quiet and peaceful night.

eurochick · 27/04/2018 07:17

With the Army threatening to storm the hospital and needing to be held back by riot police at times, I would think taking him home would be deemed to risky for all involved.

numptynuts · 27/04/2018 07:17

Joining this one from the last thread. Thank you for starting it.

Pittapatter · 27/04/2018 07:21

I hope Alfie has had a peaceful and comfortable night. I also hope that his parents have managed to get some rest.

myproteinpills · 27/04/2018 07:30

Hoping that they all had a peaceful night.

I hadn't seen that, thanks Dory

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 27/04/2018 08:12

Now the AA madness has made it to my FB - my half sister posted a statement from the Polish leg of Alfie’s Army Confused
Firat time ever I bit and replied...
They are encoroaging people tp storm the Presidiential Palace in Poland to force the president to act and are also critisising the Royal Family for silence. Also there is sth about the hospital killing Alfie once everything quietens down and other gems but it was so long I didn’t retain everything.

DoryNow · 27/04/2018 08:12

Effigy, yes fraught with challenges I suspect but at least both sides are talking to a degree. Credit to AH for keeping lines of communication open. Let's hope a mutually agreeable plan can be made as swiftly as possible.

DoryNow · 27/04/2018 08:14

Best not to look Drink therein lies madness. Wink

MorningsEleven · 27/04/2018 08:15

I'm in awe of the dignity shown by the staff at AH. Some of them must have to sit on their hands at times.

StayingAtTamaras · 27/04/2018 08:16

@DoryNow thank you, I hadn't seen that. It's outrageous that people have gone out their way to telephone and email the staff to give abuse.

I hope it has all died now and AA have all gone home to allow the family some peace.

youarenotkiddingme · 27/04/2018 08:20

I agree dignity and peace are what they need right now

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 27/04/2018 08:20

And my sister is carrying on with posts about how FB blocks reposting of posts with Alfie’s full name in them. Apparently they don’t want the people across the world to know about the British government wanting to kill Alfie.
She seems to have had a problem with reposting the official annoucement of Polish AA and had to cut and paste.

DoryNow · 27/04/2018 08:27

Drink show her that letter.

numptynuts · 27/04/2018 08:29

Yes, that letter says it all. How awful for the staff at AH. I'm glad they've put their side across on that score.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 27/04/2018 08:32

Dory it just took me by surprise. I didn’t reply at all to the second post (although I have a draft...).

Funny that they don’t fight as much for the improvement current situation of Polish disabled people - mothers with their children needing help have been sleeping for several night at the Polish parliament during the negotiations. No army stroming the parliament to help them, eh?

Doyoumind · 27/04/2018 08:35

If you don't like Facebook, definitely steer clear of Twitter. I've never seen such misinformed madness from Americans (never mind those in Europe). They don't realise the case has been to the ECHR and think we're communists!

catinboots9 · 27/04/2018 08:44

Thank goodness AH have finally come out and defended themselves.

Thanks to all the staff, patients and visitors at AH

and Thanks to all the MNers who have shared their personal stories on these threads. Some posters keeps bashing these threads saying they shouldn't exist but I for one, have learned an awful lot about things I had never even considered before.

fenneltea · 27/04/2018 08:50

my name is june I thinkyou are spot on with who is now 'speaking' for TE, which is worrying given what is being said. I was hoping that this could be a peaceful goodbye for them all, but I seriously doubt it will be if those posts are anything to go by.
I firmly believe that Alfie should remain in the hospitals care.

ankasi · 27/04/2018 09:01

Last night I had a look at the AA page on FB and saw a call for the German AA to send letters/emails to Angela Merkel and some ministers. IMHO, complete hyperbole.
I also saw the "demonstration" outside Buckingham Palace on my commute last night. Being generous, there were roughly 25 people, there was also police around in a riot van, not too unusual around Buck House. Some tourists were a bit surprised and others thought the blue balloons were for the yet unnamed prince.
However, what they meant to achieve at Buckingham Palace I really don't know. One wasn't even in.

PaintedHorizons · 27/04/2018 09:04

Thank you for sharing the letter from the hospital - I hadn't seen it. I am glad that they released it.

My son was in a different hospital when he was two years old. They saved his life. It was looking very bad at one point. The staff were so very good, so caring, so professional, so determined to do all they could and so genuinely happy when he turned the corner - I couldn't imagine them being treated with anything other than respect.

I also remember a nurse making me a cup of tea and giving me a hug. I was in such a state of stress that I hadn't realised I'd had nothing to drink for hours and hours. She was doing her job - but also kind.

My experience isn't everyone's experience though - I realise that - but what was said in the letter rings true to me.
