I haven’t followed the story too closely apart from skim reading these threads. I was chatting to my parents about it tonight (in their 70’s, lost my Dsis at 5mths old) and they said why won’t AH let the parents take him home or wherever they want, if the inevitable was going to happen, i explained i thought that moving him may cause him pain/distress and certainly not improve his situation. But it led me to wonder why they can’t just take him home and cuddle him to the end, surely it would end the circus created by the army and perhaps provide some peace to them all? I know it will have been discussed loads on these threads so please excuse me if i am going over the same thing. Genuine question.

@GoofyIsACow I think ( and hope ) that they will be working towards taking him home now.

I think before there was a lot of concern about the parents trying to take him to Italy if they were allowed to bring him home and also concern around the death threats to members of staff. It seems like Toms statement and Facebook status is saying if everyone calms down then he could come home.

Still provocative statuses being posted by his brother though. I wish they'd all just learn about spouting off on social media so people who haven't got a clue about anything can wind them all further into a frenzy. It's not helping anyone

@Alpineflowers I think that came across wrong, I'm not wishing for him to be distressed at-all, I am fully for whatever is in his best interests but if the hospital agree it is ok for him to be at home then I think it would be nice for his parents to spend their final hours/days with Alfie at home away from ridiculous protests and away from social media etc

No it wasn't a criticism of you, I understand what you mean but I think the doctors have already suggested that moving him might cause him distress and possibly pain.
It's a very sad situation all around

My thoughts are with this little boy going into another day which might be his last. His parents, devastated at what is not to be, hopefully coming to terms with reality.

There is such international attention on this calling UK a police state. The damage from this case is horrific.
