I'm so sorry for their loss.

I hope in time the negatives of AA can be overridden with memories of just how many people grew to care for this wee boy, and how much he touched people's lives. That is one he'll of legacy to leave.

I really hope the family are receiving, and accepting, the support they need and deserve at this time.

To those of you who have shared your stories, thank you. I will keep you in my heart. To those who are undergoing treatment at Alder Hay, I will keep you in my thoughts.

To Chippy, you won't be forgotten.

I'd like to think, when the time is right, we can continue discussion over the medical facts and ethics we've been speaking about over the past few weeks, but for now I'm going to go and give my not-so-babies a big squeeze and count my blessings.

Sleep well little Alfie, and may your parents be surrounded by compassion, love and peace.

Those of you that have shared your stories - thank you for adding your voices. You children (siblings, parents, etc) are just as precious for all the headlines that were never written about them.

I'm very sad to hear that Alfie has passed away. I hope his parents can take comfort knowing that he is at peace now. Goodnight little darling boy.

Rip little Alfie. I hope it was a loving and peaceful passing. Truly hope his parents know they did everything they could and that it brings them some sort of comfort. Mightn't have agreed with a lot of it myself but there's no denying how much that little boy is loved. Hope they're being well supported at this time. There is nothing more heartbreaking than losing a child

Even now you've got people commenting that " the Government will suffer for what they did to him "

That beautiful little boy will never know the impact he's had globally.

Through all the agendas that have been brought forward he will be responsible for reviews and a tide of change.

He has also been responsible for some very interesting discussions and those of us following the threads being much more open about death and I for one have learnt a lot about EOL and palliative care.
