New thread to discuss the developments from the news for Madeleine Mccann

I know the other thread got a bit out of hand but lets keep this one nice if possible.

I think it is good to discuss all that is happening in the news & also good to see peoples views on what is happening in the news.

The lastest i can see so far is that Madeleins parents want to keep focused on the finding of there daughter & want to keep this in the news they don't want things to turn on the police investigation & how it is being handled.

Mr & Mrs Mccann have also decided they want an E poster which they are going to be sending out through email to spread the news so that everyone, everywhere can look out for beautiful Madeleine.

But how can we be positive when history tells us that these cases almost never have a positive outcome?

lemonstartree · 10/05/2007 22:07

shoegal @10.28am

nice to hear how perfect a parent you are.

now shut up. its not helpful and cactually its not relevant. That poor child has been abducted. your sanctimonious bleeting does not change that fact. i expect her parents wish they had not left her, just as thousands of others wish they had not taken a particular car journey, or left home at that particular moment,or befriended that particular person,

i hoe you never have to wish that or ever blame yourself for any accidents or terrible tragic events.

if you ever do, think back to your pitiless condemnation and reflect

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 10/05/2007 22:09

according to

bbc news
the cctv footage was from the night Madeleine disappeared, although of course the police didn't confirm or deny.

I imagine the mccann's reaction to the pollice will depend on the outcome..

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 10/05/2007 22:11

erm .. do we have to bring up posts that were made hours and hours ago and which have now been passed and hopefully forgotten? IMO this serves no purpose other than to stir up more negative feeling on threads.

lemonstartree · 10/05/2007 22:17

sorry

made me very angry and upset......

one might similarly ask why posters have to critisise loving parents whose lives are ripped apart , 7 days after the event?

maybe that would be too difficult.

I just can't stop thining about that poor family, and praying that chocolateface etc are right, at least then she would be looked after. Other alternatives make me physically retch when they go through my head.

God bless Madeliene and keep her safe until she can be found

MrsSpoon · 10/05/2007 22:26

I thought the CCTV footage was more recent that the night she went missing.

foxcub · 10/05/2007 22:34

I understand they were recorded later on the same night that she was taken, at a petrol station on the road which is en route to Spain.

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 22:35

Sky news say a buisness man has offered a £1m reward.

Frizbe · 10/05/2007 22:36

That's good news then, might be some incentive.....her poor mother looks so frail on the tv tonight

foxcub · 10/05/2007 22:37

Good - hopefully someone's greed will motivate them to give some information. Good for him - that's a really useful thing to do, it often works.

Someone must know something...

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 22:39

iamewhoareyou, for some reason I don't think this is like other cases. I think the police know that too.

Astrophe · 10/05/2007 22:42

Will be praying that someones greed gets the better of them tonight and that the £1m brings some new information very soon.

BTW, has everyone downloaded the Poster off the Sky News site and sent it to everyone they know in the world?

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 22:44

No. I think we should do this. If she looks similar to another girl on a passport photo, shoe could be anywhere in the world.

ess · 10/05/2007 22:45

Im off to the Algarve Saturday and will be taking lots with me.

Astrophe · 10/05/2007 22:47

Think I will start a new thread with the link and encourage everyone to download it...

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 22:49

Good idea. It will enable people to be proactive.

ToughDaddy · 10/05/2007 23:00

In the weeks ahead, if necessary, we must ensure that we keep this well up the priority list for all the authorities. Let's be there for them now and in the weeks ahead. XXX

Astrophe · 10/05/2007 23:01

well, yes, tbh it does help me to feel like I can do something to help, however small. And we just never know who might see it and have some information do we.

I've done the thread - please keep it bumped, I'm off to bed soon.

ToughDaddy · 10/05/2007 23:14

any ideas on how we raise the profile in Spain where they could have escaped to?

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 23:16

I think they could be any where in Europe by now, or the world if Madeleine looks similar to someone elses passport photo. Could I be wrong?

WendyWeber · 10/05/2007 23:18

What about that unusual eye though? Won't a child's passport now have to have a biometric image???? Or is that just in the UK?

MrsSpoon · 10/05/2007 23:19

Not a huge deal but I am going send a link to the posters to my letting agent in Spain.

imaginaryfriend · 10/05/2007 23:20

I've been so sad to see that this story has barely been covered on the BBC news tonight. It feels so wrong to be letting it slip away when it's all so unresolved.
