Ok guys, we have been very lucky to discuss this, please lets not give anyone anything to complain about, Mhq have been more than accomodating.

I wish someone could tell C and C that to Charlie, or any baby, home is not a place, it's being with Mummy and Daddy. He needs his hand in theirs at the end, as peaceful and painfree as possible.
Poor poor family.
They will regret this once clarity returns

You cannot run an ITU unit in a house or a hospice you need a licence and appropriate insurance with suitably trained clinicians in place

It doesn't matter if over night you can get the kit together etc. The most recent GOSH position statement seems to confirm that

It's like DH can't lug all his kit home from work and decide to start placing implants in patients in our kitchen.

DorotheaBeale · 25/07/2017 23:33

It's really difficult to read the CA page on FB. I'm not sure the vast majority of them have actually read the court transcripts.

We did have the judicial equivalent of 'RTFT!' the other day, didn't we, when Francis J suggested that everyone who wanted to comment on the case should read the court documents.

nolongersurprised · 25/07/2017 23:34

No international doctor will be able to get UK registration in that short time period. And even if they could their professional indemnity wouldn't cover them at home - doubt anyone would ever consider it for that reason alone

misshavishamsleftdaffodil thank you for that excellent explanation. Many questions answered for my own part.

BubblesBuddy · 25/07/2017 23:37

I am not sure any hospice should be named on here that may the the one GOSH have identified. That is speculation and unhelpful to the debate and we don't need to know. Neither do trolls.

SuperSue77 · 25/07/2017 23:37

My great concern here is that of setting precedents. If a huge number of consultants are engaged in allowing 1 set of parents their final wishes then how many other families are suffering because the already stretched wards are staffless? The NHS is suffering a massive funding crisis and yet is forced to spend a huge amount of its resources in a dispute. What if alll parents were doing this? There would be no system left. It does feel like sending Charlie home is putting his parents needs over and above his and GOSH or any other professional establishment cannot afford to set a precedent like that.

soda it doesn't have to be like that. I have a short, carefully monitored list of 'friends'. As I have moved around a lot it helps me keep in touch with people in other places and countries.
There is not one Hun in sight.
My profile is private as are my posts. They can only be seen by those I have chosen.
But then if it would be no advantage to you then I agree there is no point in using it.
Personally I wish it had existed a long time ago as I have lost contact with so many people. The occasional letters soon dwindled to none.
Twitter I agree with you. I read tweets on there but would never post as it is public.

GabsAlot · 25/07/2017 23:38

ar thy really going to ask money back from thenhs?

LogicalPsycho · 25/07/2017 23:39

Mommytomylittlestars please don't go into hiding!

And JaneEyre70 feel what you mean Flowers its overwhelming.

So sorry it's taken 2 pages to keep up, I'm a slow typer Smile

officeshoes · 25/07/2017 23:41

Sparechange maybe ask for the name of that hospice to be deleted? There are some bloody nutters out there.

sodablackcurrant · 25/07/2017 23:42

@smilingmind

Thanks.

CremeFresh · 25/07/2017 23:42

I didn't mean for the hospice to be named , I just wondered if one had been organised . Maybe get that comment deleted ?

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 23:43

woodstoday..Maybe parents feel that if they have a pack of assembled specialists, they can have Charlie at home..this is what it looks like on the CA page

officeshoes · 25/07/2017 23:43

Def needs to go that name, hopefully fewer people reading at night though who knows.

TheFairyCaravan · 25/07/2017 23:43

I've just had a thought.

When this originally went to JR they asked if they could have until yesterday/today to gather their new evidence but the judge said no. Although as it happened it was dragged out.

Now they are asking for Charlie to go home for a week before life support is withdrawn.

I think they are absolutely desperate, and have been all along, for Charlie to see his first birthday.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 25/07/2017 23:43

Exactly Super. And it's not just one dr who would be required, it would be 3 working 8 hour shifts, 24x7. the NHS cannot facilitate.

Connie is quoted as saying "we promised him every day we would take him home". I'm just speechless.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 25/07/2017 23:43

The CA nutjobs have previously threatened to go and get Charlie themselves

Can see that happening

sodablackcurrant · 25/07/2017 23:45

Please keep the potential hospice details out of it now.

But it might need a court order, and I hope that happens too.

I don't think pp mentioned it with any intent, just what s/he knows. No worries.

Writerwannabe83 · 25/07/2017 23:45

If the Judge rules that Charlie is to pass away in hospital I wonder what time frame he will put on it?

I wonder if overnight C&C will opt for the Hospice just because it may ultimately buy them more time with Charlie whilst arrangements are made? (Aka, giving them more time to hunt down a Home ITU Service company and then take it all back to Court again).

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 25/07/2017 23:47

I think he will rule for it to over the weekend

He seems conscious of the delays so far
