Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Interesting Darth. I've been busy these past few days, so haven't checked in with the threads. But what an interesting statement from a member of CA.

I dont think the meeting is today. I througt they was a futher hearing this week to confirm the chair of the meeting first.

The meeting isn't until tomorrow but i guess C&C would have been n the ward while Charlie was being examined and would have heard what was being said. Why would she delete her FB account? I don't do FB and i don't really know what she was posting. Is that where CA were hanging out?

I would imagine CY would not be allowed to comment publicly on today. It may have been a condition of her being there.

It's being reported that the US/Italian doctor have left GOSH after examining Charlie and his records.

The meeting is tomorrow.

If CY has deleted her FB page I'm not sure what that means.

I'm inclined to think she doesn't think it's gone well for their case, but who knows.

Blueskyinmarch no, she's deleted her private fb and Chris has deleted the pictures of her pregnant with Charlie. I expect she's now aware it's a no. Dr Hirano has gone in to a ventilated, unresponsive child, who's swollen to hell.

Unless of course Charlie has taken a turn for the worse.

Sounds like they might be taking the first steps in coming to terms with the fact he is not going to get the treatment and there is no thing that can save him. I do feel very sad for them but i hope they are now starting to think about goodbyes and letting him go. They have been fighting so long it will be hard for them to get their heads round this, if indeed this is the outcome.

I feel awful for these parents.
If one of my friends children where gravely ill, I would offer a listening ear and plenty of support. But I would choose my words very carefully. What can you say?
Connie and Chris have "supporters" offering words, the wrong words. How do you recover from that?

Lelloteddy- I agree. What we think we know, compared to what is happening behind closed doors is two different things.

Whatever the reason it's probably a good thing for them. I would think having a break from social media would only be beneficial to their mental health right now. The only real supporters they need are their family who are obviously there for them. I can't imagine the pressure they are under without them feeling they owe the virtual world an explanation all the time.

And I know they have used SM to promote their cause but I still can't feel much other than utter sadness for them right now.

CA are awful. There's a certain picture they keep sharing of a younger Charlie where his eyes are completely glassy, and they're talking about his listening to his mummy's voice and looking up at her with inquisitive eyes. He's known to be deaf and blind. Why on earth do they think he's in an ITU bed fgs, the things are like gold dust. He's not there for fun.

Hopefully, the reasoning is communicated very clearly to C+C and they can for once and all start to close the book on this horrible chapter without CA claiming they should have kept fighting or something equally as guilt inducing.

The SM campaign was originally for fundraising. I'm sure a lot of FB campaigns become something between a burden and a trap as time goes on. A bit like having a loudspeaker you can't turn off in your house.

Nquartz I have a friend of the family on there, everything that was previously tagged for CY has gone black. She's no longer on Chris' FB either and the pictures said friend had shared of Connie pregnant have been removed.

Indeed whatever has come out of today, I genuinely hope they can can access all the support they need, in real life.

That article says it nowhere bar the title. Additionally, he can promise all he likes, but it doesn't mean that it'll happen. He's going to have to prove to a judge that the benefits outweigh the risk and the pain to Charlie of staying longer in a horrible limbo. He's also going to have to justify to an ethics committee why he's sure that it's okay to ignore the Geneva Convention and use a child as a guinea pig for his trials when he hasn't even done mouse studies on RRM2B.

I wish they would shut down the CA page, the blog and twitter account too.

I think it would be really sensible to not encourage any more media.

Maybe they think that they might need it after next week but they could just reinstate the accounts.
