Hi guys new thread.

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Starting now as 9 will fill up quickly.

WeeWitch - I'm so sorry for your loss. Suicide is the hardest way to lose someone. I lost my partner that way many years ago and the best description of how it felt was someone saying it was like a bomb going off under a kitchen table. Another wise person said that sometimes you just need to think about getting through the next hour.

You are entirely right in everything you say.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

taratill · 17/07/2017 16:54

Ooh this thread has just been directly reference on CA as being sensible and balanced.

The poster is pro -saving Charlie but saying that it is wrong for GOSH and the NHS to be criticised, making direct reference to the threats of harm.

DarthMaiden · 17/07/2017 16:59

Here you go....

Nothing much on the CA page apart from chuntering about the guardian's lawyer who should be sacked. Apparently the judge needs to sort this out Hmm.

Doesn't look as though Laura Gard has posted anything today.

taratill · 17/07/2017 17:02

I think that we will find some CA posts on here later given that someone on CA has directly referenced the mumsnet thread just half an hour ago. I don't know how to screenshot it but if you scroll down the link to the sun article regarding the guardian's lawyer it is there.

UrsulaPandress · 17/07/2017 17:02

Morohine makes me heave and tramadol lightheaded and dizzy.

DarthMaiden · 17/07/2017 17:03

The hatred and vileness towards people now through this is getting beyond ridiculous. I'm all for Charlie and his parents but people saying there's a conspiracy to kill this child are off their heads! Yeah...doctors go about murdering kids on purpose every day in Great Britain eh? I'll support Charlie in my own way so I'm leaving this group now. It's bordering on psychotic.

Very recent post on CA website.

More and more people seem to be questioning the social media campaign even if they still support Charlie getting treatment.

rabbitnothare · 17/07/2017 17:04

Oh great, don't really want the hysteria and murder theories on this thread tbh.

ajandjjmum · 17/07/2017 17:05

Can someone tell me if it is actually possible for Charlie to die while he's being ventilated or could his body just give up?

Ellie56 · 17/07/2017 17:09

ajandjjmum Yes somebody said on an earlier thread it is possible to die while on a ventilator.

DarthMaiden · 17/07/2017 17:10

I'm happy for members of CA to post here. It's not a closed forum.

If they want to engage in debate, express their view and do so without making personal attacks on the professionals involved (legal and medical) then that's perfectly reasonable.

If they do start defaming people then we all know where the report button is.

DarthMaiden · 17/07/2017 17:14

I very much doubt we will hear anything further today.

It's not clear if the meeting is today or tomorrow, but I assumed that the US/Italian doctors would spend today assessing Charlie and reviewing his medical history/scans etc with a view to a meeting tomorrow.

That is however an assumption on my part unless anyone knows any better.

rabbitnothare · 17/07/2017 17:14

I couldn't find the comment referred to earlier, lots of personal abuse towards someone and demands that they be removed.

Not sure if it's still there now.

ajandjjmum · 17/07/2017 17:15

Thanks Ellie - would be a kind release. I feel sympathy with the parents but it is now being mixed with frustration at their misdirected anger towards GOSH, who were nothing but kind and caring to DS when he needed their help.

DarthMaiden · 17/07/2017 17:17

@MissHavishamsleftdaffodil

*Re:If the judge is hoping for an agreed course of action 'by all parties' by the end of this meeting, what it seems to boil down to is can the US doctor convince GOSH that this medication will help enough/ethics are good enough that they change their minds and agree it should be given.

Whether or not the judge changes his mind will likely hinge on whether GOSH change their minds as to what is best for Charlie.*

Or indeed whether the examination of Charlie and his medical records convinces the experts from the US and Italy to accept the clinical judgment of the GOSH team and prior independent consultant experts from London and the north of England.

It could absolutely go either way.

DarthMaiden · 17/07/2017 17:17

@rabbitnothare

I took a screen short down thread.

Ellie56 · 17/07/2017 17:25

According to DM Hirano and the Italian doctor spent 5 hours examining Charlie today before leaving by a side door. (To avoid CA?)
The official meeting which Connie will sit in on is tomorrow which will be transcribed for the judge.

What's the betting though all the docs will be having an unofficial chat about it over drinks/dinner tonight?

rabbitnothare · 17/07/2017 17:28

I can't see it DarthMaiden, I am not sure if the photo attached.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 17/07/2017 17:31

I can't see it either Darth.

DarthMaiden · 17/07/2017 17:33

It attached for me (on the phone app).

I'll try again

Ok have posted from the desktop site. See it now?

BubblesBuddy · 17/07/2017 17:44

There is every possibility that once Professor Hirano sees all the medical notes and Charlie, he may come to the same conclusion as GOSH Doctors and their specialist advisors. They too have discussed his case with an expert from Barcelona. The judge does wish for all parties to agree so hopefully this terrible saga can end. Charlie's needs must be put first. Not the needs of experimentation, the requirements of the parents or the doctor's reputation.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 17/07/2017 17:44

I can see it now, thanks

jinglejanglejobs · 17/07/2017 17:44

Connie's deleted her fb. I'm assuming the meeting didn't go in her favour.

Sorry to hear your news weewitch
