you're right too princess

Bubble99 · 16/03/2007 22:39

Has he been struck off? If not he should be, at least.

Reading the news reports it seems that medical evidence which showed that one of her boys had a staph infection which had spread to the CS fluid (and tragically and fatally to his brain) had been withheld from her defence team.

Is this how the law works?

SofiaAmes · 16/03/2007 22:40

poor poor woman. The tragedy is that there may well have been some sort of genetic problem in the family (reason why two children died as babies) and she may well have had some sort of physical/health weakness for the same reason. And that was triggered or made worse by the stress and hardship of her ordeal. If only that evil evil evil roy meadows had somehow been made to pay for his acts. The medical community in the uk should be ashamed of its conspiracy in all of this.
And no one should think that this isn't still happening to poor defenseless women in the uk....

simplycontrolfreaky · 16/03/2007 22:42

no. that's how the law doesn't work. how very sad. poor family. in the picture of her on bbc site she looks so haunted and battered.

foxinsocks · 16/03/2007 22:49

he appealed against being struck off didn't he? think his appeal was successful but he had retired by then anyway

the whole thing is just shocking, awful - has really shaken me up

HallelujahImaBum · 16/03/2007 22:57

This was how she looked the day her appeal was upheld - I have never forgotten that face.

She had a terrible time in prison, at least initially.

Roy Meadow is personally responsible for all that, and from what I have seen and heard of him, he not only does not regret it, he still thinks he was right.

indiemummy · 16/03/2007 22:59

just saw it on the news. god i feel sick. this is so sad. her poor poor husband and 8-year-old boy. unbearable

MrsWednesday · 16/03/2007 23:00

She looks utterly destroyed.

It is so tragic.

ScottishMummy · 16/03/2007 23:12

So so sad

thoughts are with her and the family

husband with no wife, children with no mummy

Lizzer · 16/03/2007 23:33

Can't stop thinking about this, sorry. I was rejoicing for her when she was let out of prison and cleared of charges. I can remember where I was and who I was with (my nana)...... I was in tears then and I am again now.(joy the first time, sorrow the last).... I'm stunned, sorry for being selfish by posting again, I just feel so strongly that it could happen to any of us. I have faith in the system and a massive distrust at the same time

pindy · 16/03/2007 23:35

This is so sad

SparklyGothKat · 16/03/2007 23:46

I remember the thread on MN when Sally was released, how we all were happy for her.
Such sad news

Frizbe · 17/03/2007 00:15
Sad
Alderney42 · 17/03/2007 00:22

As a mother, I feel that the terrible miscarriage of justice that happened to Sally could have happened to me, if one of my children had died suddenly (God forbid) and I had met Meadows in court.
Sally's family must be absolutely devastated and my heart goes out to them. I hope Meadows and the other people who gave evidence against Sally, knowing it was wrong, can live with themselves - because I could not.

Sad
puff · 17/03/2007 00:39

So very upset about this

StyleCouncil · 17/03/2007 00:43

just read this. Isn't this so sad. After all her family went through for it to end up like this. Tragic. Ar dheis de anam.

edam · 17/03/2007 00:50

Oh my Lord. How terrible. That poor woman -and her poor dh and surviving child (I thought a dd?).

I do wonder how the hell Roy Meadows sleeps at night...

feetheart · 17/03/2007 06:43

This is WAY beyond tragic.

God help her poor husband and her son - I lost my dad at 8 and know how it still affects me 36 years later. My heart goes out to them.

Judy1234 · 17/03/2007 07:12

It's awful isn't it? I think she didn't cope in prison at all well compared to many others. She also found it very hard when she came out, I believe. Couldn't just slot back into work or having another child.
You can't die of stress and presumably it's more likely she committed suicide but she might have had some other health problems or a heart attack or something like that. What is awful is if her death was connected to her unlawful imprisonment her living child has lost his mother too, never mind the 3 years with her whilst she was in prison.

I had hoped she'd come out, resume her career and have a couple more babies but I suppose that would have been too much of a fairy tale ending.

tiredemma · 17/03/2007 07:42

So sad, I read her book a couple of years ago- harrowing is the only word I can think of to describe it.

God bless her, her poor husband- how on erth must he be feeling?

Flamesparrow · 17/03/2007 07:44

Keep crying over this

lionheart · 17/03/2007 07:59
