Margaret Fleming- missing for 17 years?!

A woman with learning disabilities was reported missing 6 weeks ago, apparently after the DWP knocked on her door.

She lived with 2 carers and was reported to be a recluse.

But now it is being reported that no one else has seen her since 1999 and the police are digging up the garden.

I know mn has rules about not speculating but

As her carer surely they can't just shrug their shoulders when she runs away with the circus or whatever. As a carer, they need to actually care.

whyhastherumgone · 08/10/2017 20:01

This is so strange and sad. maybe the police are letting the carers talk etc and think there is no suspicion on them in the hopes they will let something important slip rather than these bizarre unbelievable excuses

Viviennemary · 08/10/2017 20:04

This is an old thread. I'm sure the investigation will have moved forward by now.

StealthPolarBear · 08/10/2017 20:07

It's back on the news today. They say she is working as a gang leader and sending regular postcards

LIZS · 08/10/2017 20:08

But apparently it hasn't, it is in today's news. Maybe police are hoping something new will come to light or corroborate previous info.

It hasn't, hence the recent comments on here.

MoreProseccoNow · 08/10/2017 20:52

It just shows how someone can “disappear” - no Dr or dentist appointments, no colleagues to notice your absence etc.

I wonder what has become of the benefits she was paid over the years.....

StealthPolarBear · 08/10/2017 20:54

No health check (not sure if they have those in Scotland)
No smear

The police will be hoping the murderers slip up.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 08/10/2017 20:56

Murderers?

Tealdeal747 · 08/10/2017 21:50

The police have allowed those kind of appeal interviews before as a type of entrapment haven't they?

The couple couldn't have incriminated themselves more in that clip!

Loopytiles · 08/10/2017 21:53

Yes, I think the poor woman was murdered.

StoatInACoat · 08/10/2017 21:54

Yy that's what happened with that couple who deliberately set their house on fire wasn't it? A press conference set up with the express intention of analysing their behaviour to try and catch them out.

ItsNachoCheese · 08/10/2017 22:03

I find this all so baffling tbh though i reckon the carers arent as innocent as they make oht

NotDavidTennant · 08/10/2017 22:06

I have to admit that I thought there would have been charges in this case by now. Clearly a lack of forensic evidence holding things back.

4dogs · 08/10/2017 22:07

What a sad story. The explanation that she became a Polish gang master has got to be the most bizarre bollocks I have ever heard.

YogiYoni · 08/10/2017 22:14

Gosh. I'd not heard of her before. How strange. That interview wth the carers is bizarre. Poor woman.

etsyetsy · 08/10/2017 22:15

Unreal...

AgentProvocateur · 08/10/2017 22:16

I think it's obvious what has happened, sadly. Sad What a miserable life she must have led.

Tealdeal747 · 08/10/2017 22:39

The only question is did they kill her years ago or more recently.

TheApprentice · 09/10/2017 07:23

Just found this thread after googling for information havingwatched that clip. Could hardly believe it! Not the brightest couple are they?! As if someone with learning difficulties who has needed carers all her life could organise herself to get to Poland (presumably without a passport) and then become a gang master! You would have thought they could have come up with something more credible.....The police must be desperate to unearth some evidence.

TheApprentice · 09/10/2017 07:26

And yes, she must have led an unhappy life. And no one has missed her. Hmm

Maudlinmaud · 09/10/2017 07:44

Don't know if this has been mentioned already. Cairney was a deep sea diver.

TheApprentice · 09/10/2017 08:03

That is chilling.
