Hmm
expatinscotland · 23/01/2007 20:56

I didn't vote for Bush.

It wouldn't bother me if he didn't LIE about it when asked.

In court.

Under oath.

ruty · 23/01/2007 20:57

Bush hasn't and wouldn't lie under oath?
Sorry, not trying to wind you two up.

paulaplumpbottom · 23/01/2007 21:04

Well he hasn't done anything to make him wind up in court so we don't know. We'll see if the Democrats try to string him up for this stupid war.

expatinscotland · 23/01/2007 21:05

I don't know, ruty, if he's lied under oath. I haven't followed his every word that he said under oath.

Others have, and obviously have not been able to find evidence of perjury.

I didn't vote for Bush, k?

I voted for Clinton, and I felt disappointed when he perjured himself like that. And over something so inconsequential.

.

paulaplumpbottom · 23/01/2007 21:52

Its awful when that happens isn't it expat?

Having voted for Bush this war saddens me. the handling of it has been a disaster. The bullish behavior of George and his advisors makes me feel ashamed.

persephonesnape · 23/01/2007 22:44

admittedly Hillary stood by her husband over the whole shagging thing, but I can't quite understand how we taint her with the same brush as Bill. Him being a liar does not automatically equate to her being a liar.

personally I think she'd be a great president. I was talking to someone at work about this today and It's like Lisa Simpson growing up to be president. A smart little girl who loved spending time in museums in Chicago. tried hard at school and college, married debatedly beneath her and is still held back because of her sex. If she'd been born with a penis instead of a womb we wouldn't be having this conversation at this point because she would already have been president.

paulaplumpbottom · 24/01/2007 07:17

That may be true, although I just don't trust her, but she will bring Bill with her to the White House.

uwila · 24/01/2007 14:02

Whilst I have never found occassion to agree with Hilary politically, I did, when she was first lady, at least like that we had a first lady who did something. I never supported her causes. But, I could see that she worked hard for what she believed. Then along came Minica Lewinsky... and she crawled into her shell and started preaching stand by your man. And I lost all respect for her. What a fucking weakling. It wasn't because she needed to stay. Surely she can afford her own house.... oh, but wait, it might have been bad for her political career. If my DH was going to the office to wet his willy, you can be damned sure he'd come home to find out nobody lived there anymore.

I absolutely detest Hilary for her cowardness. Not to mention that she is a liar who thought she could steel from the White House... of all place!!

I hate her hate her hate her...

The only thing I'm thankful for at this moment is that everyone on this thread who is eligable to vote in the next US presidential election appears to be voting for someone other that Hillary.

uwila · 24/01/2007 14:04

Paul, I sent you a CAT. Reply please.

ruty · 24/01/2007 14:14

i'm a bit shocked by that statement Uwila. Do you mean to say that anyone whose husband is unfaithful and then chooses to work to keep the marriage together is a fucking weakling? I don't think so. I think it is up to them. And i think she showed great courage in the way she coped with the situation.

I am a bit shocked at the sentiments expressed here TBH. Bush has obviously lied many times - he can cover it up blaming it on bad intelligence or on another politician or whatever - much easier to lie about the reason for killing thousands than to lie about having a stupid bloody blow job.

ruty · 24/01/2007 14:15

and lying under oath is worse than lying to the
American public without your hand on a bible? i don't think so.

ruty · 24/01/2007 14:16

when did she think she could steal from the White house Uwila?

uwila · 24/01/2007 14:17

They have both told so many lies. They are an embaraasment to the country. I'm well aware that few people on mumsnet will agree with me. I mean this is afterall the website that takes part in serious debate about SEpt 11 conspiracy theories. And I don't have time to debate this all day.

But, thank God, the Hilary supporters here aren't eligible to vote.

ruty · 24/01/2007 14:20

the smear campaigns by the republicans have all been shown to be lies. I am really, really shocked by your attitude Uwila.

ruty · 24/01/2007 14:21

and i didn't believe in the Sep 11 conspiracy and said so. And seem to be a lone voice in defending Clinton.

uwila · 24/01/2007 14:31

"the smear campaigns by the republicans have all been shown to be lies."

Beg to differ.

uwila · 24/01/2007 14:35

I used to say that if Hilary ever became president, I would leave the country. But, I already have. I suppose if she really runs I might have to return and dedicate my to campaigning against her.

My views have nothing to do with her gender or colour. I am all for a woman president, but not if her name is Hilary Clinton.

Condi could have my vote, but see her as more of a vice president candidate.

I would like to see a pro-choice Republican get in. One who is less vocal on his/her religeous commitments.

uwila · 24/01/2007 14:37

In fact, I was talking to my sister a couple of weeks ago about the recent change to Democratic control in congress and I said "Well on good thing: maybe they'll allow stem cell research."

ruty · 24/01/2007 14:38

condi? God help us all.

uwila · 24/01/2007 14:45

Sign your name here if you can vote. Paula? Expat? Anyone else?

paulaplumpbottom · 24/01/2007 17:35

uwila · 24/01/2007 17:40

paulaplumpbottom · 24/01/2007 17:50

uwila · 24/01/2007 18:18
